Amai
The demon world, many humans have tried to guess its nature over the ages, though what the demon world truly looks like is only known to those who live there.
In a small room of one of the many apartments in the demon world, half sitting half lying was Iryu, a small demon who could only gain a quarter of the usual magic power a demon could get in a day. As well as being weak he had a disdain for the demon world. Human world goods were commonly found in the demon world as while it was difficult and only certain demons could do it there were ways to get to the human world. Surrounding Iryu was magazines upon magazines of ads for sweet foods and cafes. Sweet food was rarely if ever found in the demon world.
Iryu's tail wagged behind him as he looked at the sweets in the magazines. "How does human world food look so good!?" he exclaimed, reaching up to wipe the bit of drool. Shut up in his room as he had been for most of his life as of late, he had read all of the magazines several times over, though he believed that today, finally, would be the day he sees the same food he's been looking at for years in person.
Sitting up and stepping off his bed he flicked his tail and looked to see how much power he had saved up. being that he couldn't get that much power in a day for the past month he had done the bare minimum of things that could use even the slightest power so he could finally make a portal to the human world. His tail glowed and emitted a faint shine. Smiling, Iryu realised he had now saved up what should be enough power. Gathering all the magic power to the tip of his tail he held it up and sliced down, cutting a portal through the worlds. he could immediately feel the power drain from him as he used it all up, though that feeling was soon replaced with the excitement that he was finally able to leave.
Iryu looked back to his room before he walked through, taking a moment to take a final look at the world he never wanted to return to. The title on one of the many food magazines caught his eye. in big letters on the front, it said 'Amai', staring at it Iryu realised that would be another way to fully leave that world behind. Amai, huh? doesn't sound like that much of a bad name. Iryu thought to himself.
I'll take it as my name then. from this day I'll no longer be known as Iryu! I'm now Amai! Amai thought confidently as he walked through the portal he had made now journeying into the human world on a quest to find sweets.
