I am Bayou an Ocean Nymph. I am the daughter of Thetis the goddess of water. I am not known among the human word for many reasons. One, so my mom can stay the goddess, and two, because my mother is afraid people will look down at her for having a child with someone that had the parents that were human. Yes, I am the daughter of a Nymph and human and is kept secret from the world, but still have friends, not like my mom will stop me from having that! Only few humans know of my existence but many Nymphs do. I have 3 friends, Kalama the daughter of a fire Nymph, Clementine the daughter of a nature Nymph, and Noelani daughter of a sky Nymph. We are all different types of Nymphs, but that doesn't stop us. We are very good friends who care for each other. There is only one person who hates the thought of me and my friends being together, Arroyo, one of my mothers close friends. He dreads the thought of a water, fire, nature, and sky Nymphs being together he finds it unbearable.
I woke up in my room to the sound of a knock at my door.
“Come in!” I say, fixing my nightgown on my shoulder before the door opened.
A little girl came in with long black pigtails and a white dress, it was Pacific, the daughter of the maiden who worked her Cascade.
“Mother said breakfast is ready and to come down and eat now!”, she says skipping over to my bed.
I let out a gentle sight and get up to get something to change into, something simple. I settle on a light blue dress with white pearls, I slip it on and make my way very quickly down to the dining room, my mother is already waiting.
“Good morning mother…”, I turn to Cascade, “and Cascade.” I add.
My mother gives me a nod and Cascade smiles, and Pacific soon appears next to me. I sit down across from my mother as Cascade sets the table letting Pacific help.
Mother soon looks up at me, she looks tired, I am worried, “Bayou- I will not be home for a few days I have important things to look into, please take care of the house!”, she says giving me a light gentle smile, it sets my heart at ease.
I smile back, “Just take care of yourself!”, I responded, and then breaking off a piece of my toast and munching on it.
Later after I finished breakfast I make my way over to meet Kalama. In order to do this we have to enter the a little city and we meet up in a café on the side of a beach. In order to blend in I wear a white tank top shirt, with a plaid red skirt and long brown boots up to my knees. I put my hairy into a ponytail and took a small handbag with a strap to go around my shoulders. We meet up at the café and I order a pumpkin spice latte my favorite and Kalama just orders tea.
“I heard your mothers going somewhere for sometime?”, she said handing the waiter back the menu.
“Yeah…”, I laugh nervously, “but it’s not like she going to be gone that long!” I add.
Kalma gives me a serious look and leans in close like she doesn't want anyone to hear, “The goods asked for her presence in Mount Olympus… I think they know about you!”, She says her face worried.
My heart sinks as farther than the bottom of the ocean, I gulp, “T-that’s impossible my mother hid my birth from the gods.
Kalma’s red eyes where burning the truth into my eyes, “And she can face a great punishment if they find out!”, she says, each word cutting me down deeper and deeper.
I can almost not breath, tears flood my eyes, just as I want to cry I hear Clementine’s and Noelani’s footsteps rushing to wear we are. I look up to see them Clementine’s blueish green eyes, Noelani’s light blue eyes, and Kalma’s reddish yellow eyes.
“Don’t worry Bay we're here for you!”, Clementine says rubbing my shoulder.
“Whatever you go through, we’ll all go through it!” Noelani said wiping my tears.
“And if they do come for you I’ll blast them away in a second!” yelled Kalma with a brave look in her eyes.
I smiled, because after all we are the Elemental Nymphs.
