The first day of a boarding school started normal for Jack. There were kids all around him talking to their friends, chattering away. He was envious of them all, his friends all moved away. I wish I could have friends, he thought. He had to get to his dorm before the bell rang and he knew it too. He hurried and set his ruff down on an empty bed and left so quickly he barely had time to think of where to go.
When the bell for class rang everyone hurried to their classes. Of course he was put in the back next to a kid that looked completely dead. Black eyes, blond hair, glancing around the room. “Hey, dude are you all right?”
“Shut up.”
“Ok. Just trying to be friendly.”
“What did I literally just say?”
“Ok, I’ll shut up.” He has some serious problems. He thought.
…
After school they all head to their dorms, and guess who was Jack’s roommate? Grai Raven. Everyone called each other by their last names. By the way. “Ohkay, so, Raven who do you like?”
“Mind your own business Underwood.” Grai stated, as his face turned a light pink color.
“Just wondering jeez. You know we’ll have to get used to each other as time goes on seeing as we’re in the same grade, and classes sitting next to each other.”
“No thanks.”
“But I wanna be friends!” Jack whined.
“Deal with it.”
“No!” Then he realized He was having a temper tantrum like a little kid. “I mean I want to at least be friends so there aren’t any problems.”
“Don’t care.”
“But-“
“No, just shut up and do your own thing.”
“Fine.” He went back to unpacking his stuff, when he felt his face turn red.
…
At dinner the rules were established, things like ‘no running in the halls’ and ‘curfew is at 10:15’ and worst of all ‘you have to come with your roommate to meals, or not at all.’ Dammit! He thinks. So when everyone was excused to get their food, he just sat there.
