Ding Ding
School, the only place more confusing than a 16th century poem, or a rap song. You have labels, boxes that you are put in, and criticized if you even try to escape. You have the popular, they are expected to be pretty, shallow and carefree. Then you have the jocks (the sportsy boys) they don’t know anything except their sport, they only think about themselves. They are like royalty, they put labels on others, choosing their future. I hate it. Then you have the talented, they usually have more than five talents and they love school, but you also have the nerds. They love school, but they are not good looking, that is the only difference between the talented and them. The perfects are always good, on their best behavior and always have “A’s”. The druggies, they are the ones who always look high, and always skip class. The Emos are the ones that always took depressed, and they always have their earbuds in. Lastly you have the outcasts, my group, we are the ones that don't fit into any group. We are different than other groups, we can change groups faster than anyone else and we do what we want.
Let me introduce myself, I am Aurora Andrews. I have brown hair, green eyes, and I am skinny and strong. My best friend is A.J. he is tall, his black hair falls into his ocean blue eyes, but it is his strong chin that gives him a “lost boy look” that all the other popular girls adore. My other friends include, Ben, he is a rebellious “perfect”, and Emerald, who is a better singer than any other talented but doesn't respect authority. That is my little group of outcasts.
“Aurora, I didn't know that you were in my class!” A.J. exclaimed
“Hey A.J,” I laughed, “I am the T.A. for this class. Are you in this class?”
“Yeah, I guess that the school thought that I needed a babysitter.” he joked
“You probably do, but I actually signed up for this class before we got out of school last year.” I explained
“It is crazy how I haven't seen you since last year,” he sighed “ I missed you so much.” A silence fell over us as we remembered everything that happened during our 10th grade year.
“Everyone sit down,” Mr. Stuart ordered when the tardy bell rang. “for the first assignment of the year you each will wright a page essay about your summer. It is due in one week, so choose your desks and get working.”
“We just got here,” Emerald whined “this isn't fair!”
“If life was fair, then I would be a billionaire.” Mr. Stuart countered
The other classmates grew silent, and started walking to the desks that were scattered throughout the room. I approached the teacher and waited until he was done helping a student.
“ Mr. Stuart, hi, I am the T.A for this class, I was wondering what I could help with.” I asked
“Ms. Andrews I presume?” he questioned
“Yes Sir.” I answered
“You can help others with their essay, I'm sure that will be easy for you.” he concluded
I looked across the classroom, and everyone was working quietly. Seeing that there were no questions I sat in the desk next to the teachers, and looked over the room. The room had 15 desks for students, one desk for the teacher and a long counter that went across the side of the classroom. It had grey carpet, and white walls, with light brown cabinets on the side of the classroom with the counter. It also has windows on the opposite wall, with a glass enclosed editing room in the corner of the room. Ben raised his hand, signaling to me. I walked across the room to his desk.
“I don't remember how to write a introduction.” he whispered
“Did you make a outline of the things you did during the summer?” I questioned
He handed his paper to me, and I quickly scanned it over.
“Wright your other paragraphs and at lunch I will help you with introduction paragraph.” I explained as the bell rang
“Remember that your essay is due in ONE week, in the beginning of class, you are dismissed.” Mr. Stuart reminded
