How am i supposed to enjoy a game if a bunch of people i dont know are not aware that im playing said game?!

I don't get the appeal of this. I play to enjoy myself, why would I care who else knows what I am playing? Also I hate online games. They require excessive amounts of time just to cope with the rest of the players or a lot of money to cut the grinding down. What's the point?
