Chapter 3
The landscape beneath him, passed by the boy’s sight, in an instant of blurry colours. The sun was sharp, but the raging wind cooled down his naked back. A flood, a forest, a village. All were gone in nothing, but a few mere instants. It seemed it would be extremely rough to keep going at this pace, but without minding, the boy kept going. A light flashed in the coast of the land. A million colours filled the atmosphere, as the water reflected the sky above, in a breathtaking manor. As he was thrown out upon the clear mirror-like water, the sky below him changed to one of a grey, and muddy shade. And he fell the few meters, into the black abyss. Water from the sky above starting gushing down, onto his back, which were now covered in soil. Feathers started to surround him, as they were taking on the colour of the dark landscape around him. The thunder began clapping all around him, as his millions reflections danced around him, in a very tribe-like manor. His faces were distorted, and they were all cracked out in a wicked emotion, too unfamiliar to describe. With that the boy looked towards the chaos above him, as he slowly was pulled into the darkness below. He felt at ease. A weird shrill tone cut through the soothing earth-like substance. He did a sick grimace a closed his eyes.
Riiing!
The sun burned through his eyelids, as he blindly reached for the phone. He rolled over stressing over the call that kept increasing it’s violating ringing. “Woah!”, the boy stuttered, he slipped down from the narrow bed. With a subdued bump, he looked up, confused, at the ceiling.
Riiing!
He hurried to get on his feet, and as he reached for the phone it suddenly stopped the shrill sound, and was left with nothing but a frightening feeling. What had just a second ago been a call, were now a decision for him to call someone. With his hand reaching out for the phone, he froze. His mind wanted to grab the phone, just as much as much as it detested the idea about it. He told his body to move, but restrained from doing so. It wouldn’t be worth it.
It wasn’t worth it. It probably isn’t that important anyways. But then again, he thought. It might be somebody needing his help. His hand moved a bit further.
Pff! How could anyone be calling in need for ‘you’.
Once again he froze, thinking about the truth that had just been told. And if they really needed me they would call again, and if not then it couldn’t have been that important.
Riiing!
Surprised he looked phone which once again shattered through his mind. He wanted it to stop, so therefore his hand started moving. Yeah.. It’s not like i’m doing this to show any sort of affection to these people calling me. I just don’t like the sound. I disgrace that sound. I want it to be gone.
Forever.
“Hello? ‘you there …?” a voice called from the little speaker near the boy’s ear. “yeah …, what’s up”, he said with an enlightening voice. He already knew what this was about. She was gonna bring up the conversation they had friday, about inviting him out, and so on. It would all be the same. Everytime this happened, it would just be him, walking over there because he thought, that they had any kind of interest in having him over. But once he would get there people would just avoid him, and run away from him. They would look, with eyes filled with disgust and talk in a humiliating way about him. “I just called you to say that none of the people i was supposed to go with were able to come, but if you’d still like to we can still figure something out?”, the almost overly soft voice said. It was sickening how she was trying to make him do something against his will.
Don’t go. Give it a chance maybe? It’ll just ruin you. But it might be worth taking this risk. Only if you’re prepared to suffer.
He was right. I was right. We were right. There were just no chance in people finding an interest in his company. Surely, he mumbled to himself. “Again?” the voice came from inside the little plastic box. His mouth started moving in sync with the sound that left it to hang inside the small room for some time.
“Sorry, i feel sort of sick today, maybe another time soon”
