Glamour is a high-level skill of the 1st Society's Path. It's not one of the skills that make the Faerie politically powerful. The key Faerie skills are most definitely dream shaping, dream shifting and the ability to parse feelings and desires.
Glamour twists perceptions of reality. In antiquity glamour has been known as day shaping, dream casting and illusionism. A glamour can make you see, hear, feel and taste things that do not exist in reality. Faerie with skill in glamour can look and sound like someone they are not. The degree of the illusion of course is dependent on the facility of the user. There are limitations to casting glamour, primarily [redacted to prevent spoilers]
Glamour has appeared several times between scenes 1 and 7 of The Rising. The most noticeable example is within Scene 2 (Enter the Fae). Somewhere between Yaa meeting and then leaving Agent Fontaine (I’ll let you guess when it was), she overlaid a glamour over the reality that existed.
Another scene with a glamour, not as clear to the casual observer, is Scene 3. The Spider Magus uses an innate form of Magus glamour, a Hiding, to mask her movements as she weaves her web.
Glamour can also be bound to Alchemyst’s vellum, or even ordinary paper, to conceal the content of a message - except from the person[s] it was intended.
