People say time goes by slower when you- actually, I don't know when time goes by slower or faster. But as Oliver and I stand there, hand in hand, coming closer with every passing moment, I realize something. That at any time, any place, there is this special person you have. And you realize that this person is someone you will never ever forget your whole life. Because this person makes you feel like something only imaginable when you felt like this before. And I felt like this before, once. But right now, this person for me is Oliver. My special person. My other half, my weakness and my strength. My... my everything.
As our lips are only inches apart, both our eyes closed, we wait for that magical moment to occur. Butterflies go crazy in my stomach, my mind can't think straight, my legs feel like they would collapse any second now. If I'm dreaming, then I never want to wake up. Let my eyes be closed for all eternity, to feel like this again, always.
As I feel his lips brush mine, I hear the door fling open with a loud bang.
WHY.
We both freeze at the sudden sound. Our lips only touched for a split second, but enough for us both to withdraw the second we hear “excuse me, but I'm trying to clean here, so can you please make out out of the cinema, thanks.” We both cover our lips and blush in embarrassment as we rush past the janitor and outside. On our way out I reach for my lips and brush over them with my fingers.
It... it really happened. Just a little moment, but it happened! I smile stupidly to myself while I follow Oliver to the exit. Although it was short, I will treasure it forever. That feeling, like nothing I ever felt before.
Arriving outside, a little bit out of breath, Oliver suddenly turn around to face me with a serious expression. “I'm- I'm sorry!” he says, actually BOWING OH MY GOD WHAT! “Ehhhh? Oliver, please don't... bow to me, it makes me uncomfortable,” I try to stop him. He immediately stands up again, to apologize. I sigh. “And please don't apologize anymore, you don't have any reason to,” I reassure him.
He averts his gaze with a guilty expression, making me frown. “Look Oliver, you did nothing wrong,” I begin, biting my lower bit nervous before continuing, “I actually... I actually enjoyed what you did,” I finish, looking down in embarrassment. His head instantly turns in my direction with a enthusiastic “Really!?”
I jump at that abrupt action, eyes wide, but nod slowly. “I'm happy!” smiling like he always did, if not brighter, it seems like he forgot all about what happened 10 seconds ago. He really is like a child. I smile at my thought, even letting out a small chuckle.
“So,” I interrupt our happy little moment, “how do I get home now.” My ride was gone, apparently, with me having no way to go home except walking. Great. “Uhm,” Oliver catches my attention, “I could drive you, if you want,” pointing at him car with a small smile. “You would?” I ask hesitantly.
“O-of course! Only if you want, that is,” he adds with a smirk. Child? Sorry, let me correct myself: Playboy. Yes, probably maybe a little bit. But I still love him. Sigh. I'm hopeless. “Sure,” I just respond with a smile. Taking his hand, surprising him enough to wipe that smirk off his face.
Ah, you want to know about that feeling I mentioned before? You'll know what I mean when you meet your special person.
