"No Zac I'm fine, really I can handle myself"
I heard a grumble on the other side of the phone, no he doesn't believe me. After me getting myself fired from the second job this month I just had to call my best friend Zac and have a good old rant.
"Are you sure Kate? You know my dad will always be able to get you a job at his restaurant" I could imagine his soft smile through the phone; he was honestly the nicest person I have ever met, but I was fine, I was independent since 15 years old.
"I'm sure, don't worry about it, ill find a job in no time and call you soon" I lied, finding a job with no grades and me being the good old me was near to impossible.
"Okay baby cakes" he knew I was lying and for whatever reason, he decided to drop this for, well, I was grateful and ew what's with the nickname...
"Bye bye" I smiled as I pressed the end call button.
I signed, what was I supposed to do now?
Ever since my mom left me at 15 my life went downhill, I dropped out of school due to drugs and alcohol - getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. This caused me a hard to find work with no grades and being young. Me only being 15 meant I had to live at my aunties: Tina, to whom I'm forever grateful. I moved out a year later due to feeling bad for taking up space and started working at a local shop to keep my apartment.
That didn't work out great - apparently, I was being rude to the customers; bitch please, they were all dickheads.
"Earth to Kate" my roommate, Lily, waved her long fingers in my face - I zoned out again.
"Did someone lose their job?" She knew me too well, I nodded my head.
"Don't worry I'll find one as soon as possible" I said enthusiastically.
"Sure you will" she grinned "as long as you don't go for your weekly drinking"
No, I was not an alcoholic, it's just a stress relieve and you get to meet quite a lot of people, that's where I met Zac anyway.
"Now that you've mentioned it..." maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea, she just rolled her eyes at me and went out to work. Well at least one of us had a job.

An hour later I was ready to go to the local bar: Sweet Cake. Yeah, I know a weird name for a bar, don't ask.
I wore my black, knee length dress that went up to my collarbone with straps going to my back, matching this with my black dolly shoes and a dark gray watch. My hair was straightened and I had a little eyeliner and mascara to compliment my eyes.
I walked out of my shared apartment showing my money into my small bag and locking the door.
Alright, my goal for today is not to get pissed of my head - which is generally hard as I'm a lightweight.
-
"May I have two Jager bombs?" I smiled at the bartender, Nick.
"Today we have a deal of 3 for £5" He smiled back clearing the previous drinks left out on the bar table.
"Make that nine please" I looked at my nude acrylic nails, Nick just gave me one of them weird looks.
Okay, only cause I'm sitting alone, without a job and ordering nine Jager bombs because they're on a deal doesn't mean I'm some lonely alcoholic. Yeah, you show him girl, I thought as he placed the drinks down.
I bent down into my bag to grab £15 before a muscular arm slipped past me, "I'll pay for her" The brown haired man slid the money across the bar.
Thank him, just thank him and nothing more, "You know I can pay for myself" I turned to look at his face and DAMNN-
"Yes I know" He smirked at me, his hazel eyes creasing at the corners. THAT. JAW. LINE.
"Good" I turned back around a downed the first shot, well done Kate, you have to be all smart with him "But thanks anyway".
He ordered himself something to drink, but I wasn't paying much attention as I was downing my fourth shot.
"A bad day?" He interrupted me.
"A bad life" I corrected him, really Kate? complaining to a stranger?
"Wanna tell me what happened?" He drank whatever was in his glass and rotated his full, toned, gorgeous body- no, no, no shut up.
"Well..." And just now I realised I never got his name, he must've realised this too as his expression changed and he pulled his hand out.
"The names Seth" He shook my wobbly hand as I was downing my seventh with my other hand. Right now I was off my head so much that I didn't care who I was talking to be it the gorgeous human sitting in front of me or the chair I'm sat on - preferably Seth.
"The names *hic* Kate" I tried copying his tone, making him smirk again.
"So Katie would you be enlightened to inform me what happened today, or should I say in your life?" He said poshly making me giggle in my drunken state.
It's Kate but... "You see, I got fired from my second *hic* job this month!" I put my hand over my head and leaning on the marble counter, he laughed lightly "and all because that dumbass *hic* Ikea customer wasn't happy with *hic* my service, which was great, I only called her a dumb blonde a few times" He smiled at me, making his cute dimples on his face show up.
