We go often to work at the library. The erases are made from plastic so I guess ... the eraser dust should go together with plastic recycled trash.

I think what some readers are missing is the fact that the trash collection system in Japan is much more organized and efficient than other places since there actually are rules/guidelines (that vary even between cities) that people need to follow when separating and disposing their trash. Due to Japan's lack of space for landfills, the need to be more conscious about how to dispose of things is just a normal thing.
