A Small Historical Aside

Most people consider themselves unlucky if they have their accomplishments burn to the ground in a fiery inferno once in their life, but PT Barnum had five major fires during his lifetime. As well as the three museum fires, his grand country seat burned to the ground and there was also a major fire at one of his circus buildings later in his life. The first fire took place after confederate officer Robert Cobb Kennedy escaped form a Union prison and tried to burn down various buildings in New York. PT Barnum had voiced abolitionist views (despite owning slaves at one point...) which perhaps made him a target. The other two more serious museum fires are usually put down to malfunctioning boilers, but if you're a conspiracy theorist you might enjoy the idea that they were all arson.

What's the opposite of 'the luck of the Irish'? Because I reckon he had plenty of that.
