When William (Co-creator/writer/owner) first pitched me Hero-comic he had four characters and two jokes locked and loaded and ready to go. We'll talk about the other ones when we get there but, for right now, we're going to talk about character creation.
William had Roy, Mark, Markus and Ubel when he pitched the story. I remember it like it was yesterday. He said, "I've got a story I want us to do. It's about these two brothers, one's a superhero and the other isn't. The non-superhero works for this evil company. What do you think?"
Well, I mean, what could I say? It was interesting, it had potential. It was really something. Anyway, I told him "No."
I felt pretty good about that choice too. For like, an hour. But then I couldn't get the idea of Heropolis (pronounced HERO-opolis) out of my head. A city where roughly half of the population were superheroes or super villains. I could see myself being a part of this.
Also, William brought it up again when we went to Arby's and talked me into it.
Here's the thing though, there are only a dozen or so actual jokes I remember which one of us wrote. We did a lot of the writing six years ago. And our writing process for this comic is chaos. Not even controlled chaos.
However, I think, and don't quote me on this, but I think this one was my joke. Might be William's.
Thank you for stopping by.
