Art Is

Why art? Why don't you make people pay for your work? Why do you always draw something for others you barely know? Why? Why this, why that?
This episode doesn't necessarily have anything to do with my experience in high school, but it answers a lot of questions asked by many of my friends, peers, and family members.
I started drawing in the first place because it makes me happy, and later down the road, I realized that it makes others happy too. I never had any intention of making a huge business out of my art abilities, or making it so that something I love doing everyday revolves primarily around money and profit. Art is an outlet, for me. It allows me to pour out all of my emotions onto paper (or digital media, in this case), as well as my thoughts and opinions. Art provides a connection between me and the viewers or requestors. It allows me to convey a message and it creates an important relationship between the artist and its followers, I would like to think.
And being able to make art and draw for others, and to see them smile as the result of it...it makes it all the more better (-:
I've always thought that it would be cool to draw for Disney or Pixar or whatever, and do my own thing. It sounds nice and I think I would be able to come up with a decent amount of money, but just being able to draw to make myself and others happy is enough for me.
