Life of the Party

Sometimes, you fight for what is worth your time.
Bouncing lights, blearing music, drumming beats.
Disco rave: a fuel hyped arm flaring scene.
It’s past midnight, a disturbance it would have been on any other streets.
A peak inside, a fire ignited, a lone queen.
A dance floor separates; a sea of people to wade.
The moving mass swelling to the sounds,
A sight to behold, but for my eyes, no attention to be paid.
For there was something to focus, nothing to be unbound.
Eyes locked the mood changes.
To two, the music has stopped, only silence pervades.
A sudden desire to take her hand.
A flash of wonder to stroke his hair.
The music changes, a louder, faster beat explodes.
Wading through the tumultuous crowd, senses past overload,
Eyes playing tricks, a moment ago she was just here.
Searching far, looking wide, how could a person just disappear?
Out of the corner of his eye, a golden lock he spots.
Fast as he can, rushing to her side he finds a man whom had too many shots.
A plea of help is all he needs; righteous as a knight he steps in.
Separating the offender with ease, a love begins.
