This story takes place in a world where mermaids and sirens have been in a feud that goes back centuries, for reasons not even remembered by most sirens.
Lita, a mermaid, has been forced into life as a police officer and because of that is really overworked. She longs for the day she will quit, especially since her job consists less of upholding the law, and more of terrorizing and falsely arresting sirens. One day she hears on the news about a shipwreck and decides to check it out, after that her life changes forever.
