Ever get really focused on your work and not notice what's happening around you?
Anyway, for a webcomic, it really is a neccessity to remake the Greek god's designs. Otherwise, you'd be stuck with a lot of curly haired people in flowing robes that take forever to draw, and have a hard time distinguishing them. Each time I recreate the Greek gods in my comic, it's going to be in a way meant to:
1. Be simple-ish
2. Include a callback to their original design (in this case, a callback to Clotho's hair ornament)
3. Modernize in a way that captures their personality. (in this case, since Clotho sets the start of a life the Fates weave, she's the youngest of the three, also emphasizing their correlation with the triple goddess in later Paganism of the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone... you can guess how that's going to affect the other two fates...)
You may also notice I'm not using black for the character outlines. This is because the character outlines actually play a role, hinting on the deity's realm. For example, gods whose primary home is Olympus will have this golden outline. This is actually mildly tedious, especially for Xaos, but I think it helps convey the other-worldness of the gods.
