Tyura peered through a silver telescope at the medium size storage building they would be attacking. Nave and Fade had gone a little closer to scout around the area. They had told him to stay at this distance.
After that whole ordeal with Santon, Fade and Nave had decided to get the job done quickly. They had left that night and arrived three hours later. Tyura thought this trading business was rather close to a town full of criminals but then again, maybe Santons family was one of the rich nobles that funded them.
It was way past midnight and Tyura had to admit that he was exhausted. He didn’t know how they had so much energy.
Tyura sighed and shook his head placing the telescope back in the bag strapped to the horse. He placed his hand in his pocket feeling something hard and round.
That’s right. Before Tyura had left the office Mr.Co had tossed something at Tyura. He could still hear the gruff man’s voice saying. “What? Did they beat you dumb? Take the d*mn thing and get out.”
It turned out to be a piece of candy wrapped in paper.
Tyura smiled lightly , rolling the candy around in his fingers. The small gesture warmed Tyura a bit. But then he remembered why he was here and the smile dropped. He couldn’t let his guard down.
Mr.Co may have a soft spot for children, but he was still a criminal, just as much as a nobleman who would order the death of his own brother.
Fade and Nave arrived, startling him.
“Well there isn’t that many men in there.” Nave glanced back her green eyes glowing with mana. She then looked at Tyura grinning. “Are you ready for your first job?”
— —— ——— ————— —————
The plan was simple. Very simple and risky but only for Tyura.
His job was to walk up to the building unarmed and be a distraction. Which was the current situation now.
“Who are you!” A burly man ordered, pointing a pistol at him. When Tyura had approached he had been leaning against the side of the building smoking.
“My name is Boyd. My carriage was attacked and I can’t find my parents.” Tyura recited the words Fade had told him.
The man looked at him suspiciously and then looked around in the trees, his eyes glowing a deep blue. He was using his mana eyes to see if there was anyone else in the trees.
Even without mana, Tyura would have definitely known this was a trap back in his original world.
“Can you help me find my parents? I’m scared that the smelly monster got them.” Tyura added.
The man glanced at him quickly and then away. Tyura guessed that if he really did have parents they would be as good as dead.
“Uhm.” The man finally lowered his pistol. He sighed. Tyura guessed the man figured that even if it was a trap, a child wouldn’t be much of a threat. He was probably confident in the manpower he had inside.“Follow me kid.” He then turned and walked towards the building.
Tyura glanced behind him and followed the man.
The inside of the building looked less like a storage and more like another fancy inn. The “workers” were lounging around at tables playing cards and smoking.
Tyura wondered what type of things could be stored here.
The other men looked at Tyura curiously as he passed and one of them even asked who he was.
“Is this your secret love child Motts?” One man called out with a laugh.
“I’m telling Nela that you cheated on her!” Another one said and laughter erupted around the room.
“Shut up you fools.” Motts said , waving his hand.
They walked for two more minutes before reaching a wooden door. Mott’s knocked twice and only entered when a soft reply answered. “Come in.”
The room was dime but despite that, a man was working diligently on some papers. This must be the brother, Tyura thought.
This brother was thinner and shared no other features aside from their droopy blue eyes.
“Working in the dark again I see. Your going to ruin your eyes.”
Santons brother laughed gently and turned his eyes to Tyura.
“Who is your friend here?”
Tyura looked at Motts and then took a step forward.
“Please sir can you help me find my parents. I lost them in the woods.”
“He says his carriage attacked by a “Collector.”
Santons brother looked at Mott’s for a long time, tapping his finger on the table.
“Please they’re all alone out there. You have to help them!” Tyura urged. He hoped that even if they were suspicious that they would still look into it. Santons brother looked at Tyura and smiled gently.
“Of course I’ll help your parents. You have nothing to fear. Mott’s send two of the guys out to…check everything out and bring him something to eat.”
