“Together, we’re bound to fall."
Wren Dumont
Five years ago, I’ve done unspeakable things to the person I loved. Now, I’ve come to pay the price of my sins, willing to do everything in my power to quell the guilt and remorse surging inside me.
A tarnished name. A family that’s barely holding on. Bonds that are forever broken. I believe I’ve done the right thing, but the consequences of my decision continue to haunt me to this day. Was it ever worth the sacrifice?
And then I met Rome. Wild, wicked, incorrigible Rome. A legend in the dark recesses of Idomouth City, they say he’s an Omega with a tragic past, and it could be the reason he’s shielded his heart so much. It takes one to know one, after all. Because underneath that cold and careless facade is a broken and angry man — an Omega who’s suffered too much and fought so hard and long.
Rome is a total complication to me, but he’s wheedled his way under my skin and I’m eager to reveal all he is to me. Besides, this man might just be the end to my quest for redemption. The only problem now is how I can win his trust. Because Rome? He lives to curse my family.
I’m a man of secrets now. Surely just one more secret wouldn’t hurt…
Madden “Rome” Doyle
I’m done being the weak and destructive Omega they portrayed me to be. Madden Doyle died along with Enzo, the love of his life.
But Rome is here to stay. Seductive Rome. Indestructible Rome. And my favorite: Vengeful Rome. Yet somehow my pursuit for retribution ended prematurely when the nefarious Dumont brothers were thrown into prison for a crime that stole my reason for being.
Fresh out of rehab, I’m determined to turn on a new leaf. Gone are the days filled with drugs, booze, and sex. Well, maybe not the latter...
But the ghosts of my past refuse to leave me. They seem to be the only friends I’d ever known. They told me to live and love, but living is something I could hardly remember and as much as I wanted Enzo to say he’d never died, he couldn’t and I’m happy to have him haunt me forever.
But then this hauntingly beautiful man came walking through the door and I saw the familiar look of sadness in his eyes. He said his name’s Wren, like the bird that values freedom above everything else. Oh, and he’s Alpha. That alone should’ve been a red flag. But this little bird is here for a reason, and that reason could be me.
I’m well aware of the walls I’d built around my heart and this Alpha makes it oh-so-easy to chip them away, one brick at a time. Yet the more I get to know him, the closer I am to a truth — one that could either put an end to our pain or ruin us both, forever.
I may not just be the only one hiding behind a false persona. Well, two can play that game...
