It was early in the morning just after sunrise. Lately the girl had been waking up later and going into town less. She was tired of being here. She still loved her cottage and garden and helping women. However, the town's women were ungrateful and hateful, and her garden could not grow everything she wanted, and her cottage was smaller than she remembered. To put it simply she was out growing this life. Yet she did not want to leave starting over was too much and if she moved then how would the men know where to find her. She did not want to give up the gifts or stop hearing silly proposals. Of course, there was also the old women who owned the inn. She considered the old women her only friend and did not want to leave her. The girl for better or worse was stuck here.
She removed her large plush purple fur blanket and jumped from her bed. Landing as elegantly as possible. Her bed was quite larger and hung from the ceiling with the held up with gold chains. The man that brought it for her said she was too perfect to ever be close to the ground. It was more a of hassle than a gift. Every morning she had to jump down and every night she hoisted herself up. She walked to the window and pushed back the matching silk purple curtains. She looked to the sun and sat in front of the window. She closed her eyes and took the time to list what wanted from the day. When she was done, she walked across the dark wooden floors and out of her bedroom to the bathroom. Inside the very white bathroom, she turned on the lights and headed for the quartz sink with the large mirror above. She looked at herself and undid her scarf that covered her hair.
Once undone she could see how stiff and dry it looked. Her hair stood up defying gravity, some parts were coiled others were more zigzagged. She decided then that she would spend the day tending to her hair and herself instead of her garden or the town. She walked towards the pink quartz tub and turned the gold handle. She plugged the bottom and left while the water filled the tub. She walked towards a room she used as a closet.
On one side of the room there were gold racks full of dresses she received through the years. On the other side were matching gold tables and boxes that held, necklaces, rings, bracelets, heels, sandals, scarves, hair pins and even a few tiaras. She looked around the room but decided to leave. She walked down the hall to the last room, the master bedroom.
It was dark inside on account of her not coming in often. She did not look around but instead walked into the large closet. She made her way to the trunk at the far back. She sat on the floor and opened it. Inside were a few colorful dress, scarves, a pair of slippers, some beaded jewelry and her mother's journal. She looked at the dresses and decided on an orange one with green squares and lime triangles. She grabbed the matching scarf, then she took her mother's journal.
She made her way back to the bathroom after leaving the dress and journal in her room. Inside she opened a rose gold cupboard and pulled out a basket that contained her hair products. She grabbed her favorite soap bar that smelt like lime and threw it in the tub to dissolve. She walked over to the mirror again took a look at her hair, trying to decide what style to do next. She did not feel like doing too much and decided on a high puff. She got into the tub and let her body fold into the curves of the tub. After she was done soaking, she would scrub her body down and then do her hair.
