"What amazing luck, the child lives! I'm sorry for your mother, and I don't know what happened to your father, but I will not let you die here. I will take you with me and try to raise you as best as possible."
What the hell is this guy talking about- Wait, that's right. I was sent to the past by Uztia to settle the score with Lucifero. She said she would send me to the time when "some of the strongest humans walked the mortal plane." Could he be one of them?
Just then, I heard multiple footsteps approaching.
"It is time to depart, Leon. The barrier I set up near our hideout has detected unidentified individuals breaching it," a gentle female voice stated. "Mason, I want you to create a path for us to return to the hideout while scouting for any potential enemies. Only engage if it is absolutely safe to do so. Keep me informed through Mana Frequencies," the voice named Leon immediately commanded. Another promptly responded, "Understood, boss." "Elaine, come look at this," Leon remarked as he lifted me up and seemingly stood up. Elaine let out a shriek. "A newborn child? How is that possible? These lifeless bodies appear to have been abandoned here for days, if not weeks." "Most definitely due to preservation magic, Elaine. However, I refuse to abandon this child to its fate. We will bring them to our hideout and raise them as one of our own," Leon declared as my eyes gradually adjusted to the bright lights shining down upon me. "A son, huh? Shall we become the child's parents? What name should we give him?" Elaine asked cheerfully as I finally caught a glimpse of the person cradling me.
