Sidney came through the door holding a few bags of groceries. Lizzy had finally trusted Sidney to do the shopping all on their own, and she wanted to know if they actually got everything this time.
“Ok, she said, taking out the shopping list. “Show me what you got.”
Out of the list of things, the three bags they brought in definitely didn’t have everything, though a bit of that was Sidney forgetting what some of it was. One bag was just four packages of Oreos, which didn’t surprise Lizzy. At least it was less than last time. The second bag had a few fruits, bread, and peanut butter in it. The last bag had milk, ice cream, and frozen chicken nuggets in it.
“You got the wrong ones,” Lizzy said with a pouty face. She held up the bag of chicken nuggets. “You were supposed to get the dino-shaped ones. The ones that have the cheese in the middle if you could find them.”
“Why does the shape matter?” Sidney asked ignorantly.
“Why does the shape matter?” Lizzy asked like it was the most blasphemous question they could’ve asked.
Sidney spent the next hour and a half sitting in the kitchen, munching on their Oreos, while Lizzy explained that the dino shape was paramount to the enjoyability of the nugget. This was the third talk they’d had about it that month.
