Alex found himself walking in alleyways; his feet were submerged in water till his ankle. He was constantly hearing a voice but couldn’t exactly make out what it was but he still kept going in the voice’s direction. The voice seemed to be coming from a large abandoned house just up ahead. Following the voice Alex entered it feeling afraid. But the voice had some sort of attraction to it causing Alex to follow it. There were photos of people he didn’t knew, on the walls. The house appeared in a shabby condition.
Alex understood this much that it wasn’t photos of humans. He was faced with a huge staircase, which led to the first floor. When he got to the top, he saw a portrait of some people. After seeing that only one thought came to Alex’s mind ‘family’. There were two men, one a human in his mid-forties having good defined features and another man but of a different race having same skin color as a human but with light black fur coming out from his face.
He was taller than the human man and was in a long robe. Then there was a lady looking of the same race as that of the man. Other than that, there were two children, a boy and a girl sitting on a horse like creature.
‘The boy looks like his possible father and the girl like her possible mother. Well, I guess it’s safe to say they might be their true parents.’ Alex thought. The kids were also of the same race. Lastly there was that dark black horse, with huge beautiful wings but something was off as the horse had a horn on its forehead. Still, they all looked happy.
But Alex had a feeling that something had happened. Something bad. He then took a left turn and went for one of the doors. The door opened to a long staircase leading to a basement down. There was dim red light coming from the end. Alex somehow without needing to watch his step was able to descend smoothly.
The basement looked extremely dilapidated. The water now came almost to his knees. Alex felt like he was standing there for a long time but just a few seconds had passed. The surface of the water was still. Suddenly a few ripples came in the water. Alex felt someone watching him from the dark conner of the passage.
“Who are you?” Alex asked as he went a little closer to take a better look. A mumbled voice came back but Alex wasn’t able to make out anything. He looked around found the source of the red light. A lamp was hanging from one of the walls which gave off the red gloomy light. Alex took the lamp and went near the voice to hear and see more clearly.
A Scrawny tall man in very ragged and disheveled clothes was on his knees; his hands were tied from black chains emerging from the ceiling above. Even his legs were tied at the ankles. There was a collar at his neck which extended to a chain attached from the ceiling. He was covered in mud and dust. His skin showed burn marks. His face was covered by his long-disheveled hair coming down almost to his knees. When the light fell on him, the man lifted his face just enough to see Alex’s face. After that his head fell in a lumpy position.
He moved his fingers, directing Alex to come closer to him. Alex didn’t know what came over him as he went near him. His face was very close to the man now. Still the man directed Alex to come closer. Alex then put his ear near the man’s head to listen to him.
“Take me to my grave.” The man said in rasp low voice in Alex’s ear.
After that Alex abruptly woke up from his dream. This time he woke up for real. He was fully covered in sweat and was gasping for air.
“Oi! You alright? Blake asked as he remained in a defensive stance.”
“Wh... why wh... what’s the ma-matter?” Alex asked in between breaths.
“You were continuously squirming, first I thought you were having a bad dream like before so I let it be but then you suddenly started moving left and right and then started screaming. I’ve seen people having nightmares but you are something else.” Blake said as he tried to keep his distance even though the cuffs prevented him.
Alex didn’t know what just happened. It all felt so real to him. He doubted that he was dreaming, this was because he retained every single part of the so called ‘dream’. He remembered the finest details.
‘Oi Alex you alright?’ Miracle asked.
‘Y-Yeah… d-did you see that?’
‘I not only did but I forcibly pulled you out of it.’
‘What was that? A dream?’
‘No, as far as I can tell your consciousness was pulled into the stone or rather the person who’s inside it pulled you in.’
‘That person… I-I…’ Alex placed a hand on his head as he began to feel dizzy.
‘It’s alright, we’ll talk about it later, you should sleep now, you need rest, I’ll watch over you so that it doesn’t happen again.’ Miracle assured.
And just as he did Alex laid back and quickly fell to sleep as if he had never woken up. Blake on the other hand was still clueless, observing Alex, half expecting him to wake up now.
