It must be blocked all the way up, Serenity whispered to herself.
Her digging had pushed through many lengths worth of rubble, and piles were lying around the entrance to her lair. Her scales were covered in thick layers of dirt and grime, and she closely resembled something from a nightmare, eyes glowing beneath mounds of gunk.
The dragon shook herself and huffed, scraping the ground in frustration. She crawled back into her lair and lay down on the soft earth that had collected between two piles of debris. Closing her eyes, she began to breathe deeply and think soothing thoughts.
Just a little rest and I can begin again, she said tiredly.
Just a little rest… and then she was asleep.
