Aaron. "Grail?" He was confused, what in the world was a Grail, he understood Michael, he was like some sort of super-powerful angel, right?
Adam nodded his head. "As in the Holy Grail of God? The thing that was personally crafted by the hand of God for countless eons before he even thought of creating everything, It is a person, although knowing about him isn't important seeing as he hasn't been seen for many years." Adam said.
Aaron nodded. "So, everything has an order right?" Aaron asked to confirm. He got several nods of agreement, "But wait…he said you have two forms?" Aaron raised a brow at Michelle as he asked, he kept trying to get an answer.
"I am a Dragon, Aaron" Michelle answered. Aaron crosses his arms incredulously.
"A Dragon?" Aaron asked, disbelief clear in his tone.
"Yes, my first form is big and bulky… and quite frankly ugly. I become a big Dragon. I usually just use it to scare off other creatures, but when someone powerful shows up, I am forced to use my most powerful form, which is much smaller than the first form it's more humanoid but the battle power difference is massive" Michelle informed matter-of-factly.
"It's enough to make me go down a class," Michelle said, and if Aaron didn't know any better, he would have described her tone as smug.
"It's just a class. You make it sound so great," Aaron commented, trying to find the reasoning.
"That's because it is. The difference between a Class-4 creature and a Class-5 creature is so vast that if they had to fight, it would be completely one-sided," Adam said as he casually leaned back against a tree.
"As you know, Bruce was a Demon, but he was completely crushed by Adam. Bruce was a Class-7 creature, so he was way out of his league," Dean informed with a nod.
"So what creature are you?" Aaron asked as he looks at Brianne.
She smiled. "A Vampire."
Aaron paled slightly. 'She won't be coming after my blood now… would she?' Aaron inaudibly gulped and coolly asked, "What about your class?"
"I am a High-tier Class-5 Creature. Although I am the fastest among us, well except against Michelle" Brianne said with a smile. "Each creature has its attributes, Vampires are fast."
"Yes, that's true, not to explain." Adam started, "Michelle has the highest amount of natural, raw power in her class among the supernatural creatures. Brianne is the fastest in her class and when I say in her class I mean, every type of supernatural creature in that class, Devils are the most agile so in any class we happen to be in, we will always be the most agile, and the same is said for every other creature." Adam said. "Dean is by far the most voracious creature in his class. Jason is a Werewolf, so he has everything we do, just at a slightly lower rate. However, if we were to try and take on a Class-3 creature, even if we are at full power and fight seriously, we would still be slaughtered… more like chewed up, thoroughly digested then spat back out" Adam said bluntly with a disinterested shrug.
Aaron nodded slowly. "This is pretty interesting but complex," Aaron said as he rubbed his throbbing temple.
"Is the baby's head starting to hurt?" Adam teased, getting back at Aaron.
Jasmine laughed at the comment, "It isn't nice being on the receiving end is it?" Jasmine clasped his shoulder lightly and grinned, getting back at him.
Aaron wanted to say something, but he stopped and looked at everyone. They were all laughing and joking around. The familiar act made him smile. He had friends, amazing ones at that. Even if they were all supernatural creatures…that could kill him, he felt safe… but, why?
Aaron didn't know the reason, but he knew he could trust them.
"Very funny, Jasmine," Aaron said as he dropped his head in defeat.
"We still going to have the study session later?" Michelle asked, instantly going back to her usual seriousness.
"Come on, Michelle! Why can't you enjoy the moment and not kill it with studying?" Adam groaned and sighed heavily.
Michelle grinned. "I'm just saying…you aren't that smart, so you need to study" Blunt as usual.
"Ouch," Adam said with mock hurt. "My heart…it's in pain! You stabbed it with the sharp edges of betrayal" Adam always the clown.
"Burn!" Jasmine said as she started laughing…not for long.
"You need it as well, Jas," Michelle said with a half-hearted shrug.
"Don't you dare say it!"
"You need to develop more than two brain cells after all," Michelle said, provoking Aaron to erupt into laughter.
Jasmine turned bright red with embarrassment. "Why do you always pick on me?" Jasmine whined annoyed.
"I will have you know I am a prodigy! I can probably floor you all in a straight-up fight!" Jasmine defended herself with a grin as Adam sighed.
"Yes, we know Jas…" Chuckled Dean as Jasmine nodded happily.
"And you better not forget it!" Said Jasmine.
Aaron ignored the conversation and looked to Michelle and whispered. "Thanks" Michelle gave a small nod and a smile in return.
Adam started humming, "Michelle and Aaron sitting on a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, then-" Michelle sent Adam a cold stare as Aaron blushed, oblivious to the situation. Adam instantly shut up with an audible gulp.
The entire group froze when they saw Michelle, Aaron was the only oblivious one.
"Well, I guess it's about time I get going," Dean said as he sensed the tension in the air. He gave everyone a thumbs up and he walked away almost too quickly, glad to escape.
"Well, I should follow to," Brianna said. Jasmine nodded in agreement, and soon, both of them were gone.
Adam looked at Michelle apologetically. "I'm sorry"
"I have to get going" Michelle bit out with a frown adorning her face before she walked away. Aaron gave Adam a quizzical look as he watched Michelle leave. Adam waited for Michelle to get far enough and out of hearing range before he started speaking.
"She is going to get married soon," Aaron's jaw almost hit the ground in shock and his heart dropped.
"Married?" Aaron repeated as he remembered her frown. Hesitating slightly he asked. "Isn't that a good thing?" No one knew this but he was full-on in love with her and he couldn't let Adam know that. Adam sighed as he leaned back and saw Jason asleep, having some happy dream in Lala-land. The effects of a park.
"It would be…if she actually liked him…or even tolerated him, she hates the whole idea which is why she is so on edge when anything comes up that reminds her of it," Adam said with a sigh, "But Dragons are strict creatures and follow tradition to the letter. Even if they don't want to." Aaron inwardly sighed in relief as he thought of it. "If some miracle happened, and the wedding is declared off, then, Michelle would probably be a lot happier" Adam continued with another sigh.
"Was it an arranged marriage?" Aaron asked, there had to be a way to stop it.
Adam nodded. "Her family is marrying her off to some powerful and influential family to have stronger children and, of course, a higher status,"
"Can't it be called off?" Aaron asked, hoping against hope that there would be some way.
Adam shook his head, "No, the bond has been made, breaking it now would shame her family. She would not be able to show her face in Ailiand." Adam continued with a noncommittal sigh.
"Ailiand?"
"Yeah… It's where all Dragons come from… kind of like Heaven, which is where all Angels come from, or Hell, which is where Demons and Devils are from… and so on," Adam clarified.
"So when is she going to get married?" Aaron asked.
"I don't know, but it's soon. They have been planning it for nearly four hundred years," Adam said with a shrug.
"Four hundred years!?" Aaron repeated, flabbergasted.
"She is a lot older than you think she is Aaron," Adam laughed at Aaron's expression, "Most of us are a lot older than you think we are."
"I have a feeling I still have a lot to learn about this world, considering that every second person I pass is supernatural" Aaron said, a depressing joke.
"Actually, barely ten percent of the town is supernatural" Adam said with a smile tugging at his lips. "You just have a knack for finding the supernatural," Adam said as if that were a good thing.
"By the way, I passed the car garage earlier and old man Jackie told me your car is ready," Adam informed. Aaron's expression lit up slightly "I know how much you love that car and with all that has happened I took the liberty of bringing it to you!"
"Where is it?" Adam handed him the keys.
"It's in the school parking lot," Adam said as Aaron instantly walked away.
Adam shook his head and went up in flames and disappeared.
Aaron walked up to his black Dodge Charger, he took out the keys and opened his car door. He sighed in bliss as he felt the soft, smooth car seat beneath him and saw the familiar wheel in front of him. Aaron started the car engine and heard it roar, his mind in complete turmoil and his heart hurting more and more.
