Things between Tyler and me continued to go smoothly after we cleared our misunderstanding. We can't seem to get enough of each other. I used to go to Tyler's house after my classes ended.
But surprisingly, this time around, mille is always in the apartment. She seems to be working quite hard on her finals. I could see her dark circles almost reaching her chin. Being a third year is not easy. I'm still in awe at how she managed to attend basketball practise despite being exhausted.
The most interesting part of all is how mille is constantly attempting to talk to me. Sometimes it's silly and too random. I must add that despite her best efforts, the dad jokes are not working. She once blurted "do bald people still need to wear a hairnet if they work in a restaurant?" Even though I must agree that wasn't funny, But I laughed at it and retorted, "I believe I have seen a few people wearing hairnets."
I think mille is from an affluent family because she frequently received gifts filled with high-end goods at random. I didn't press her too much about her family because I suspected that she didn't enjoy talking about them. But because my parents insisted on knowing who my roommate is, I introduced mille to them during one of the video calls. And I have also discovered that mille has talent for cooking. We enjoy watching the same show that spurred us to frequently eat dinner together. She even tried to help me get notes and assignments from few seniors. Though she doesn't have the best grades she is favourite of most of the professors, mille knows a lot of people on campus and so I thought I better be on her good side.
She was extremely popular among girls; I had seen quite a few of them dropping by the apartment. She does have a very vibrant social life. I could only think of how different she is from me. She is outgoing, attractive, and charming, and everyone adores her.
**************
I was sitting in front of the mirror, fatigued from having to redo my makeup and wondering if I should try a different look entirely. I was distracted by the sound of a doorbell. I think tyler is already here. Milan appears to be unavailable. She is the one who prefers to attend the door. Every time the doorbell rings, my initial instinct is to dash inside. I would rather die than attend the door, but today’s guest is here to take me out.
Although i had promised tyler that i would go to the party today, i wasn't sure what to wear. Eva helped me in choosing a dress and the accessories that would go with it. I wore a red bodycon dress and paired peep toe heels with it.
I grabbed my clutch and gave myself one quick look in the mirror before opening the door.
Tyler was on the phone when I opened the door, but as soon as he saw me, he put the phone down, kissed my forehead, and said, "you look like a dream, the dream I want to dream in the day, no, the dream I want to dream every day."
I chuckled, despite being shocked by his unexpected reaction. I kissed him on the cheek in response. I grabbed his hand immediately after he extended his hand.
I’m glad he offered his hand since I’m likely to die trying to climb down the stairs in these heels.
I was familiar with all of Tyler's friends, so the atmosphere at the party wasn't awkward. There were a lot of drinking games, food, and karaoke too. Few seniors were also there at the party.
Tyler tried to sing some songs, which was basically him screaming into the microphone on top of his voice.
I was playing beer ball with Tyler. I'm conviced now that I'm pretty awful at these things while he hits the can the majority of the time.
I stopped playing and got on to dancefloor.
My legs began to ache, so I made my way to the first-floor balcony to get some rest. Even though I assumed nobody was on the balcony, I could hear some sounds. I tried to scan the area. Despite the poor lighting on the balcony, I could see a couple kissing in the corner. Since they were so close to me, I tried to avoid glancing in their direction as much as I could, but when someone entered the balcony, I was forced to stare at the cuddling couple. I then observed it was Milan kissing a senior-year girl. Our eyes met. I hastily averted my gaze and sprinted towards Tyler from the balcony, who was already searching for me. My cheeks were burning. It was as if I had seen something I was not supposed to see.
Tyler scanned me and after he ensured I was okay, he sighed in relief and remarked, "you are dangerous when you’re drunk." I paid little attention to his remarks. He said it was already half past three and we should go home, and he was worried that I was too drunk.
Tyler dropped me back at the apartment, kissing me goodnight and asked me to call him if I needed anything.
