Yamaguchi Tadashi was different from other people. Sure, he had just graduated high school, and was ready to go to college, as a normal person would, but he was unique in one way compared to others.
He could see human wings.
As far as he was aware, he was the only one who could see these wings.
Wings came in all different sizes and colors. Wings could move based off someone's emotions or actions.
For example, if someone was angry, their wings may flare to resemble their anger.
Wings show a lot about a person.
Yamaguchi wasn't able to see his own wings, and he's never bothered to care about it.
He doubted there was anything important to the wings. They were just..there?

Yamaguchi was out on a walk, watching the unique types of wings.
He enjoyed observing people.
He saw a tall boy, blonde hair with glasses. Something was different about him.
Yamaguchi looked at his wings, but he was shocked and stopped in the middle of the sidewalk.
He had no wings, instead, there were two charred stumps on his back, as if they were burnt off.
Yamaguchi had never seen any physical damage or human contact happen with the wings. He didn't know anything could happen to them.
He decided he would talk to the boy.
He took a deep breath and walked up to the boy, who had sat on a bench.
"Um..hello!" He greeted him.
The boy looked up.
"Hello..can I help you?"
"Uh..no.." Yamaguchi chuckled. "I just happened to see you walk by and assumed that you were a cool person? I wanted to be friends with you, sir!"
"Sir? No..call me Tsukishima. My name is Tsukishima Kei."
"Oh, okay! How about Tsukki?"
"I..I don't care.."
Yamaguchi smiled and sat next to Tsukishima.
"I'm Yamaguchi Tadashi! You can just call me Yamaguchi!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Yamaguchi."
"You as well, Tsukki."
They shook hands.
After talking about their own interests for a while, Tsukishima asked Yamaguchi an important question.
"Yamaguchi?" He asked.
"Yes?"
"You seem different from everyone..I just have this feeling about something.."
"Oh? And what is it?"
"Do you know about the wings?"
Yamaguchi was taken aback by his question.
"You..You know too!?" He shouts.
Tsukishima smiles.
"So you do know.." He whispers to himself.
"Can you see them too?" Yamaguchi asked.
"Wait..you can..see the wings?"
Yamaguchi was confused.
"You can't see them?"
"I only know where the secret is located..I also can feel them."
"You can?"
Tsukishima nods.
"Observe."
He put his hand forward to try and touch Yamaguchi's wing.
"What?" He asked.
"Hm?" Yamaguchi hummed.
"Where is it?"
"I can't see my own, so I don't know if I have any."
"Oh.."
"I knew you were different as well, Tsukki. You're wings look like they were burnt off."
"Maybe it's something that happens to the special people?"
"Maybe."
Yamaguchi looked at his phone.
"I better be going now. Here's my number. It was nice to meet you!"
"You as well."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yamaguchi sat on his bed, thinking about the things Tsukishima had explained to him.
"Being able to touch someone's wings without being able to see them?" He asked himself.
Maybe there was a reason they both had something to do with the wings.
He remembered something else he had said in that moment.
"He knows where the secret is?" He started, "What does that mean..?"
He decided to wait for a text from Tsukishima. He didn't know his number, so there was obviously no other choice.
He layed on his bed, slowly starting to fall asleep.
A loud sound made him flinch.
It had come from outside.
He opened his curtains, and a flash of light beamed through, glowing straight in his face. He was blinded.
A storm had started.
A ding! came from his phone.
He closed the curtains grabbed it.
"Unknown Number"
He opened the message.
T: Hey, Yamaguchi. You're probably still curious and have questions, correct? I can try and answer them best as I can. By the way, it's Tsukishima. {7:34}
Yamaguchi smiled. He knew that Tsukishima would text him eventually.
Y: Hey, Tsukki! Yes! I do have questions. Thank you! {7:36}
Y: I was wondering what you meant by, "secret of the wings". What do you know about that? {7:37}
T: Ah, the secret. There is a place located somewhere in the mountains where you can find something that tells you the secret. I assume since you don't know this, and you are actually able to see the wings, that I am meant to be your guide while you're the one searching for the answers. {7:39}
Y: Oh! Wanna go find the secret then? {7:39}
T: It'll take a bit of planning. Meet me in the park tomorrow at 3:00 P.M. Don't be late. Anyways, goodnight! Get a good night's sleep! {7:40}
Y: Okay! Thank you, Tsukki! Good night! {7:40}
And with that, Yamaguchi peacefully fell asleep, to the comforting sound of rain.
