Taylor Callas knew
she was extraordinary. Maybe it was because she was pretty. She had long golden
hair, and a perfect pale complexion-no acne, no zits, ever. Her golden locks
framed ice blue eyes. She didn’t know why though. Her family never told her.
But Taylor was royal. She belonged to the royal family as much as you, or I,
belong to our family members, and to our ancestors, and so forth. Taylor Callas
knew one day, her gift would show. Every royal had a gift. Not so much magic
as it was connecting with nature. It would brighten her senses, and make
Taylor feel what others were feeling, know what others were
feeling. Not mind reading though. It is hard to describe. Back to Taylor, now.
Taylor was at the Sunday Bazaar, where merchants sold trinkets and gadgets, and
now comes the real magical items they sold. Every Sunday, Queen Alina,
and Kind Radka would give Taylor some gold bits to go buy something. One thing
Taylor had to do was always be aware. Most of the items sold were scams. Taylor
saw a old, satin, blue cloth with golden letters on it saying Invisibility Gadgets. 55% off! Taylor
always wanted one, so she took a look at the stall. It looked authentic, so she
walked over. Her robot butler Aziza followed in her wake. “Come,” Taylor said,
signaling Aziza as she walked through the crowded streets, finally reaching her
destination. She waited a few seconds for Aziza to find her, then said, “Hello”
to the man running the stall. “Hello, milady.” The merchant had clearly
recognized Taylor a little too quickly. Was he up to a scam? The merchant
shifted his gaze to a little remote, with only one, large, red button on it. “Milady,
what can I interest you in?” asked the merchant. “I-I still don’t know. How
much does the invisibility device cost? I see it’s on sale,” Taylor said. “16
gold. Or one diamond and six gold.” He smiled, revealing rotted teeth. “I can
take it.” She held out her hand, sixteen gold were sitting on it. “Thanks…,” he
said, “why don’t you try it?” This man was making Taylor uncomfortable. Taylor
squirmed. “Aziza, scan this man,” Taylor said quietly, wishing the merchant
hadn’t heard her. Aziza got to work, and she said in a robotic voice out loud,
“Name. Zha Canar. Record. Ten time criminal. Danger level. Very high.” Taylor
ran, and Zha gave chase to her. “Hit. The. Button.” Zha said through gritted
teeth, the sand staying out of his mouth. “GUARDS! I NEED YOU!” Taylor said, the
guards giving chase to Zha. “Aziza!” Aziza sucked sand from the ground into the
barrel and shot it out at Zha. He coughed and slowed. The criminal broke free
from the guards holding him and ran to Taylor. Even if this was a scam, the
best luck Taylor was with the invisibility gadget. She hit the button. And she
hit it hard.
