"I'm so glad you're alright. The lamp trapped me and malfunctioned, it tends to attack anyone near when that happens. Thankfully I managed to stop it before you were killed." Tsuru handed the lamp to the girl, even giving her a hug, meaning to seem as innocent and caring as possible.
Even if it went against all her personality she had to make it seem like she cared.
"Oh." Was all that came out of Evira's mouth being so confused at her words. But she gullible and fell for her words. However, it wasn't going to be so easy to fool Allon, his face full of rage unbelieving of her words.
"Liar!" Allon screamed a burning fury in his eyes calling her out, "That doesn't even make sense. How could we possibly believe you; we barely know you. I saw you hiding in the corner! You caused the first accident and all the others!"
"It makes sense to me, I've dealt with it for years. As to me hiding is ridiculous, why would I ever!" Tsuru crosses her hands, "You mortals just don't understand. It is far from your understanding." She hissed the words out making things up as she went.
Might be an excuse she did often, but one that hadn't ever backfired, it was clear Allon wouldn't be falling for any tricks though. For whatever he knew gave him the advantage over her attempts.
"Then why does the lamp disappear every time!?" He was closer now his hand still pointing at her, "both in Evira's room and in the forest. Explain!" He continued looking over her with desperation, trying to prove himself.
Tsuru didn't get the chance to think up an explanation just repeating what she said before, "As I already mentioned you wouldn't understand." She crossed her arms looming over him, "Besides what reasons would I have to kill my master, because that's clearly what you're insinuating."
Before their little accusations continued Caron called catching all their attention, "Evira, Allon where did you go!?" The house was a mess and she was screaming from her room.
"Let's talk this out later. I don't want mom to worry." Evira started walking back inside not noticing the tension between the two, "I wish everything in the house back to normal first."
Tsuru did as told, snapping her fingers seeing as Evira walked back but Allon stayed looking at her, his eyes burning with resentment. She turned on her spot to leave him in his own anger before he spoke catching her attention, "How long will your lies last?"
His voice was like a distant whisper barely audible but still there, still existent, "I won't make the same mistake twice. You aren't getting away this time Tsuru, I swear it. You've killed enough..." He clutched his hand walking past her, and suddenly things clicked into place.
Tsuru's memories seemed to brighten back up, reminding her exactly of who he was. Watching him walk ahead turning his back to her.
Speaking up for him to hear, "I'm a bitter person Allon, but you... you make me seem so happy. Who would have thought you a genie, to care about people. It's a stupid mistake."
It had been years since she'd seen him, but things wouldn't change. She disliked him, he hated her, and as genies they'd see each other every few hundred years or less.
You were bound to bump into another, and the past they held in common, was one painted in blood. Her masters led her down that road, and his freedom made him suffer for her imprisonment.
Tsuru disappeared into smoke, she had to think up another plan. One that wouldn't fail, considering Allon knew her plans. She laid in the lamp quiet for most that was left of the night, waiting on her opportunity to come.
Before Evira went to sleep she looked at the lamp where Tsuru still laid inside and asked something that had plagued her for a while, "Did you have a family?"
Coming out of the lamp and looking down at her, confused at the question, " I prefer not to speak of such times."
"Allon doesn't seem to like you." Evira claimed, gracing her fingers on the lamp she looked up at her.
"That's as clear as day to me." Tsuru unfazed by her words seeing as the subject had changed into something she didn't really care about.
Evira hummed thinking on what to say next, she hadn't thought out what she wanted to talk about and the things to ask, "Don't you ever want to say how you feel or something. I know I'm just your master to you, but, you always sound so angry and annoyed at everything."
"Listen Evira, I won't speak to my masters like my friends, because they won't ever have a place like that in my life. So keep your opinion about me to yourself, I don't want or need to hear it." Tsuru said with grimace.
Evira went quiet, closing her eyes not answering anything back. Tsuru in turn gave her a cold shoulder going in the lamp and letting her thoughts run wild on what she was to do about Allon.
For some things where best unspoken for eternity
Tsuru knew she was a cruel and unforgiving person, but she hadn't always been that way, she hadn't always been so bitter, even she had a time of happiness.
Times that had slowly faded in time, her memory failing her every passing day and when it didn't... she despised it. Things she only wished to have back but never could. In times she imagined what it would be like to be back home, never had found the lamp, never had touched it. Would she have lived long? Would she have been the master of a genie? She would never know, for that is not the fate she had been given.
However she had one goal she would never forget, the one that kept her yearning for mortality. She kept this secret to all, believing that if she spoke it, people would turn against her.
Her eyes lingering on the deep dark void of the lamp, as empty as it always had been, it only kept her thinking on what she was to do, how she was to be rid of Evira, Allon joining her on the list being that he was in the way.
He was a genie, so he knew most her tricks, but that wouldn't be much help with the plan she was calculating. After all, he couldn't always be with Evira, there had to be a time where he wasn't there. A moment where he could do nothing...
But fate was a cruel one, and all truths are eventually revealed
Evira had been on and on about bonding with Tsuru failing and getting rejected on every turn. Every day for the past month had been hell. On and on she'd go about how Tsuru could enjoy things alongside them. She would constantly ask about the past, every time a different question but every time the same answer.
"It doesn't concern you." Tsuru told her for the hundredth time that day, leaning on the wall while looking up the ceiling in a daze.
Allon looked her up and down from the far side of the room, he had been glued to Evira every day. He was like a puppy running after her in every direction. He hadn't confronted her again in all those days, but his stare, his usual glare, it was enough to tell her he meant business.
That the moment she let her guard down he'd have a plan against her up his sleeve. He wanted to make her diss alert as much as she wanted to be free.
"Come on Tsuru, talk to me." Evira begged, pulling at her arm making her sway back and forth, the tension between them spiking.
Tsuru pushed her off and got in the lamp ignoring Evira calling her outside, "Please just stop it!" Her voice traveled out the lamp like a scream, enough to get her to sto. At least for a while until she decided to annoy her again.
It was becoming a strain on her having to deal with Evira every day, yet a part of her didn't mind the attention, almost enjoyed it. Almost... She peeked outside seeing them both quiet, Allon minded his own business while on his phone and Evira walked back and forth in the room unable to stay put.
She repeated that for a few minutes before her door was opened by Caron, her mouth curving into a smile when entering, "Allon your mom is downstairs."
Allon looked between Evira and Caron, a conflict playing in his head, if he left the room Evira could potentially be in danger. But if he didn't that would simply seem out of character for him.
He got up slowly, staring at the lamp for a last time before leaving the room. Caron looked over at Evira her eyes focused on her, "Is everything alright?"
Evira snapped out of her daze, "Everything is fine mom, why do you ask?" She was focused on her mom, her thoughts stopping all her concentration gone.
"You've been distant lately, I'm worried." Caron stepped forward standing in front of Evira, "Want to talk about anything?"
Evira nibbled on the bottom of her lip, she hadn't told Caron about the lamp. She had kept it a secret between her and Allon. All given to Allon's recommendation, "Nothing's wrong mom."
Caron gave her a wary look but gave a small smile in the end, to which Evira reached out and hugged her. Unknowingly to them Tsuru lurked in the shadows seeing their little tender moment, taking the chance to attempt to take her lamp.
But barely gracing the lamp Evira moved from the embrace causing Tsuru to jump back hitting her head on the wall. Scurrying back to the lamp, hiding there while they looked at her area confused on the sudden sound with an unknown origin.
