Chapter 6: One Day
Evan was walking in the hallway, all alone. Valentina and Emilia went to their classes, while he was going to the spot he has always gone to. He recently had an urge to try and start drawing. He is practicing how to draw nature, because he finds peace in nature. When he was about to get to his spot, he heard a group of students laughing and walking towards him. His pupils dilated at the sight of them. He broke a sweat as he started to run away. He heard footsteps behind him, slowly catching up to him. He tripped and fell on the grass floor. He threw his backpack and looked up to the people above him.
“Look at this, guys! He can’t even get up properly!” One of them yelled.
“He can’t even defend himself. How is he even going to survive?” One of them snickered.
He was strapped down by their bodies, beaten and beaten until he couldn’t resist anymore. He could feel the blood on his face that was slowly dripping down. After what felt like eternity, they finally got bored and left. He sat up, feeling a sting on his ribs. He gritted his teeth while looking at his hands. They were all bloody with scratches and bruises, his fingers covered in blisters. He went over to where he threw his backpack and started to look through it. He found the book he was recently drawing in. He quickly went over to “his spot” and started to slowly shut his eyes.
He woke up to hear the last bell of the day ring. He quickly got up, wincing at the pain in his ribs and started to walk back to his house. When he finally got back, he looked into the full-length mirror that he has. He stared up and down his body, seeing all of the cuts, bruises, and soon-to-be scars forming. He sighed and opened the drawer next to his bed taking out the medical case he had for emergencies. He bandaged up every cut and bruise starting to feel better and being able to breathe normally. He took out his laptop going onto the game. He hoped Oliver was online and he needed to ask what kind of clothes he liked. His eyes quickly scanned the screening that he wasn’t online. His bright smile quickly turned into a frown.
He fell backward onto his bed thinking about Oliver. He looked up at the ceiling deep in his thoughts about Oliver. What kind of chocolate would Oliver like? What kind of clothes does he like to wear? All of these thoughts were swirling around in his head while he was giving off a huge smile. He realized that the day they were meeting was tomorrow. He suddenly jolted up from his bed into his closet frantically searching for clothes to wear tomorrow. He thought of what Oliver would look like when they would finally meet. Would he be a blonde, brown, redhead? He couldn't think straight.
After a few minutes, he finally got his mind together and picked out the clothes he would want to wear during their meetup. He smiled rushing downstairs, seeping with positive energy. His mother was in the kitchen cleaning dishes. She peeked over to him, giving a weak smile.
“What has you so worked up, Evan? You’re never this happy!” Mom said in a cheerful tone.
I jumped from her comment and just stared at her for a few seconds.
“Oh, nothing, Mom! Don't worry, I am just heading somewhere tomorrow. And uh.. by any chance do you have chocolate around here?” He asked politely knowing his mom would want him to.
“Oh yeah, we do, in the cabinet we have some chocolates. Why do you need them? A girl?” She smirked. If only she knew.
“Oh uh... Nothing special. I was just in the mood for some chocolates. And it’s not a girl! I don’t like anyone! I'll be going upstairs now!” He quickly grabbed the chocolates and went upstairs.
“Yeah, okay..” She taunted him.
While he was running up the stairs, he bumped into his brother, Noah.
“Whoa there, what are those chocolates for, huh? Got a crush or something, Evan?” Noah spoke in a mocking tone.
“Shut up Noah! And no, I don't have a crush. Thank you very much for asking!” Evan yelled as he scrambled up the stairs with his chocolates.
“God, why does everyone think I like a girl?” He mumbled.
“You say something?”
“Nope!”
He quickly went into his room, throwing the chocolates on the bed and slamming the door shut. He locked the door and slid down behind it, massaging his head. He looked up at the ceiling as he was thinking about the day. He had such a bright smile on himself that it felt unreal. He got up from the door going into his closet to get ready for bed. He placed the chocolates on his desk as he fell asleep with a bright smile on his face.
