Once Kimi was home, Ulet showed her to a mirror as soon as possible.
Kimi’s face stared back. She was back to being human. Except, her wings and claws still remained, and black speckles dotted her body.
“Woah. I look so cool!”
“Yes, you do look cool.”
Puru barked in agreement.
“I’m gonna go show Jackie and see what she thinks,” Kimi said, darting from the mirror and towards the room Jackie was staying in. She knocked on the door, and when Jackie came to see who it was they saw a grinning Kimi infront of itself.
“Woah. Nice form. Do the sharp teeth come from it?”
“Nah, my family has abnormally sharp teeth!”
“Huh. Weird. Well, come in.”
Kimi followed Jackie as she walked toward the guest bed she was supposed to sleep in.
“I’m not the biggest fan of your powers.”
“Why not?” Kimi asked.
“I… I’m scared of the dark…”
“Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize.”
“It’s okay. Uhm… you look really pretty with the lighting.”
“Oh… uhm… heh… t-thank you…”
“Uhm- uhm- n-no problem!”
“You are also r-really pretty! I really l-like you…” Kimi confessed.
“Oh thank Korowa! I was worried you wouldn’t like me like I liked you!”
“You have a crush on me too?!”
“Yes! I do! I love your gold eyes and your soft hair and everything about you!”
“Yes! You’re so cute when you’re happy and your white streak is pretty and I love the way you act! Uhm… c-can I give you a kiss?”
“Y-yes please!” Jackie blurted.
Kimi leaned in and placed her lips on Jackie’s, pressing in and holding them there for what felt like forever. When they came apart, Jackie and Kimi both turned redder than tomatoes.
“O-okay! Well I had better go get s-some dinner! See you later!”
“Okay! Bye… Oh wait! I had the best idea!”
“What is it?”
“Turn around!”
Kimi turned around, and Jackie jumped onto Kimi’s back.
“Oh!” Kimi’s wings wrapped around Jackie’s body. “Don’t do that without telling me, please.”
“Okay, sorry! I like it up here though, it’s cozy and your wings are warm. Like a big, fuzzy blanket.”
“Thanks?”
“No problem! They fuzzy,” Jackie played with the downy feathers nearest the base of her wings. “They’re so soft…”
“Thanks!” Kimi giggled.
“I’m gonna call you birdie. Cause you’re my birdie.”
“I’m gonna call you bunny. You’re cute, like a little bunny.”
Jackie blushed. A smile broke out across her face. Kimi stepped out of the room into the light.
“The eclipse is over!”
“That’s nice… I’m gonna hop out now,” Jackie said, sliding out of the golden wings and darting to the dining hall.
Kimi giggled. “You’re so cute,” she muttered.
