“ My Power”
The Lord's eldest son Marcellus shifted uncomfortably in front of me.
“ H-how did you know?” He uneasily asked.
“Whitcher's never stayed anywhere for too long, either work calls them away to far lands or the townspeople run them out.” I paused, turning to look out the window. “ But Bain has only been reported doing jobs very close to Belladonna and has been staying here for almost a year. Now isn’t that interesting?” I inquired. Looking at his reflection from the mirror.
“ That still doesn’t explain how you knew about me and him,” he stated.
“ Oh that was quite simple really, I was bringing Skullcaps to Ezekiel when I heard you two in the room. Your voice was the most recognizable given how long you were, and if I didn't hear you moaning his name, I would have recognized that sword of his you two left in the hallway.” I say turning around with an innocent smile watching his face turn the color of a sunset.
“ I-i’ll go get him then.” He stuttered from embarrassment and ran out of my chambers. I gave a breathy chuckle seeing the boy's reaction. I will admit it was quite odd really, for two men to love each other. Rather it was almost unheard of, at least for me. Though I can't think of anything wrong with it. A heart is a wild thing you can’t control who you love. I remember thinking the girl from home was beautiful. Arva was her name, she had the longest hair and big blue eyes. Though she didn’t even talk to me, not many people did considering my scar. She was beautiful though, I wonder what it would be like with a woman?
“ Ma! We finally made it to the Castle!!” I hear sparrows' voices yell in the corner of the room, I look over to see Sparrow jumping around on the bed and Niklaus chasing him.
“ You look beautiful as always, Nelia.” Nik hummed, picking up a sparrow and walking over to me.
“ Mama, you made it to the castle,” Sparrow said quietly, tears welling in his eyes.
“ DO have some fun without our love,” Nik said as tears ran down my face.
“ my baby, my baby!” I cried out as my knees gave in to my heartache leading me to the floor. Ezekiel must have heard my sorrows as he came rushing in and offered me much comfort. After moments my sobs quieted down.
“ LAdy Cornelia the eldest son and witcher Bain are here wishing to speak with you, should I tell them to come back later,” Ezekiel asked, still concerned for my well-being.
“ No that's alright, I will be going now,” I say getting up and ridding myself of any tears. I walked to the corridors where Marcellus and Bain were, I could hear them talking as I approached the door, peeking in.
“ Marcel, she is a monster,” Bain said frustrated.
“ Maybe but now she is also part of the Lord court and in a high role of power, you cannot kill her, besides she knows about us.” He said looking down at his feet in shame.
“ How could she possibly know?” Bain exclaimed.
“ She put two and two together from your behavior… and she heard us the other day.” His and Bains' faces flushed red.
“ It will be ok, she won't tell anyone right?” Marcellus asked Bain.
“ Don’t worry about it, love,” Bain murmured, pulling him in for a chase kiss. As their shared kiss began to get more intimate I decided to speak forward.
“ Well, that's adorable, I always knew Marcellus was a bottom.” I chuckled lightheartedly, causing both men to turn to me.
“ How long have you been standing there?” Bain asked as Marcellus turned to hide his blush.
“ Longer than you’d like,” I said flashing them both a smile. Walking over I plopped myself on the desk to the right of them.
“ You know I can’t kill you in a seat of power and continue to live here in peace so why did you call me here, and what makes you so sure I won’t just kill you and leave.” Bain started making Marcellus flinch at the thought of him leaving.
“ That’s simple really, I can see how much you love the Eldest son. You wouldn’t risk having to leave him and you can’t take him with you due to him being the eir.” I paused to stand up. “ And what I want from you is simple, I want your help, I want you to work for me,” I stated.
“ Why would I ever work for someone who deserves punishment for their crimes!” He said, raising his voice.
“ Because one's memories can be the worst teacher of them all,'' I muttered, Bain paused, sending me a look of understanding.
“ SParrow and-”
“ Yes.” I cut him off sharply
“ Did you?” He asked hesitantly.
“ No, It was Alren,” I said my face was emotionless.
“ That's what you want my help with?”
“ Yes, you know lands and seas better than most, and I will need someone of your skillset to help me track down and Kill Alren for what he has done.” My anger rose with each word I spoke.
“ And innocent people along the way?’ He inquired
“ Won’t be touched, I just want Alrens life.” I started meeting Bain's gaze.
“ Ok, I will work for you as a part of your crew.” Replied Bain.
“ Good, I will be off then.” I was still angry from the mention of my the. As I walked away I heard the two talk once more.
“Are you going to trust her Bain?” Marcellus asked worry, coating his tone.
“ No, but I trust her anger,” Bain replies, watching me as I walk away.
