Kimi tugged her flats off and brought herself to the ground, feet touching by the soles.
“Hold your hands together.”
Kimi guided her fingers into place, intertwining them and leaving her palms wide open, placing her thumbs high above, touching them at their tips, so that if you looked at her hands face-on they formed a triangle.
“Good. Now, place your energy there. Close your eyes, think of your hands, reaching to you from the dark corners of your mind. Now feel your energy.”
Kimi shut her eyes and placed her golden claws in the front of her mind. She pushed her energy into her claws. A half-gold, half-silver orb materialized in the picture of her hands.
Then, she felt something move.
“Kimi…” Sei whispered.
“Can you open your eyes?” Ulet asked.
Kimi did as she was told.
And right in her palms laid a small dragon.
Halved in silver and gold.
Like her energy.
“Hello, little fellow… Who are you?”
The little dragon stared up at her. Its big, round eyes shone bright like the sun and its little wings were spotted like stars. “Arpurupu!” it barked.
“Can I call you Puru?”
It barked once more, a friendly, happy bark.
Kimi giggled. “Okay, Puru it is!”
“Kimi, sweetheart-” Ulet began.
“-Dragons have been extinct f-for hundreds of years! You hold the only one in your hand!"
