Lucina's next suitor was a man by the name of Alexander Frank. He was young. Wealthier than her first suitor as well. He would have made a fine suitor, had he been anything but an insufferable snob.
This inconceivably egotistical pig was a head shorter than Lucina was and he literally looked down his nose at her despite that fact. She never even attempted to feign interest when her parents were there.
Their first dinner together, Lucina announced to him and all their guests that she despised him and that he was the most hideous, disgusting man she had ever had the displeasure of laying her eyes upon. The latter part wasn't true. But she refused to play to his ego (a monstrous thing that was already the size of a gluttonous whale). She did use it against him though.
Lucina was an intelligent girl. She picked up new information and skills quickly. It didn't hurt that she was rather good at fibbing, too. Anything Alexander Frank was good at, Lucina was better.
Alexander Frank declared himself the best horseman on their side of the country? Lucina was sure to blow him a kiss and laugh as she raced past him with one hand on the reigns.
Alexander Frank knew the stars as well as the best astronomers. Lucina knew them like she had grown up amount them.
Lucina took great joy as she watched his fragile pride fall apart piece by piece like a tapestry with the threads slowly pulled out one by one until he seemed so small that Lucina could crush him under her heel like a bug.
He disappeared like the coward he was without a word to either of her parents. Not even a good bye or a declaration that their daughter was unfit to be his bride. Lucina watched him sulk away in the dead of night, offering a small, but unseen wave as he disappeared in the dark.
None of them heard a word from him again.
