Hiru Sessuru and Sumu Seikatsu, two members of the Kyu Hana Family, were walking through a dark Building in Kabukicho, Tokyo. The building they were walking through was called the Shi No Isha No Ofisu, or the Death Doctor’s Office. It was run by someone they needed to see. Someone known only by the Yakuza families, a man by the name of The Doctor. As they entered the Building, they could see many strange sights around them. An Ant Farm full of glowing Yellow Ants, a cage with a Two-Headed Dog, and, one of the Doctor’s favourite subjects, an orangutan. All these had one thing in common. They were subjects of The Doctor’s experiments with Aura. He had invented and utilized many procedures with which he can bring Aura out in almost any living thing. That’s right, all those Animals had been given the ability to use Aura. But that wasn’t why they were there. They had actually been called by The Doctor. His eMail was scarce, to say the least. Just a location and who he needed there. Sumu Seikatsu was the one specifically mentioned as needing to be there. Sumu’s ability allowed her to bring life to inanimate Objects, sometimes even to the point where they can take a human form. They suspected that She was needed for a new crazy experiment of his. As they got to his operation room and opened the door, they could see him cleaning off his surgery tools, and prepping a surgery table, all while humming a tune that sounded eerily similar to the original rendition of Ring Around the Rosie. Just from hearing the tune, they seemed to hear him singing in his head, “Ring o’ Ring o’ Roses, a pocket full of Posies, A-tishoo! A-tishoo! We All Fall Down…”. Needless to say it sent shivers down their spines. As he finished humming the last verse, he turned to see them in the doorway and spoke,
“Ah...you’re here.” He said in his calm and gentle voice. “Pardon my little musical note...I quite enjoy some calming music in my free time. It helps me to relax my mind.”
The Doctor was a tall man, around 6’6”. He wore a white Plague Doctor Mask, and long Black Robes. He also wore a black Hat atop his head, and black gloves around his hands. He truly looked as if he stepped out of the era of the Black Plague.
“So why did you call us here?” Hiru asked, coldly.
The Doctor walks out, back to his subjects, gesturing for them to follow. They got the feeling that they were about to get a Lecture before they got their answer.
“Aura Science is quite fascinating, but it has some limitations.” Called it. The Doctor Continued, “While Animals and, theoretically Plants, can have their Aura unlocked, they don’t possess the intelligence to create an Ability, nor a Mascot. In other words, there’s little point aside from study. However...I had a eureka moment. I had the idea for a new procedure. One that requires Ms. Sessuru’s power…”
He led them back to the Room where he got out a Jar with a single pickle floating within it.
“Uh...a Pickle?” Sumu asked, confused.
“Not just a Pickle.” He corrected. “This will be the backbone for my greatest accomplishment ever! All I need is for you to use your power to turn it into a humanoid, so I may perform my Theoretical Procedure.”
“Hold on. ‘Theoretical’?” Sumu asked. “That means you’ve never tested it. Could the subject die?”
“Would you really care if it did?” The Doctor asked, handing her the Pickle.
“...Fair point.” Sumu said, taking the Pickle in her hands.
The Pickle was then surrounded by her aura and turned into a very humanoid form. In fact it looked fully human, aside from the dead looking eyes and facial expression.
“As far as I understand, it’s essentially a puppet in this state…” The Doctor said, laying the newly created being on his table and using anesthesia to put it under. “However, I believe I’ve found a way to transfer a Soul to it...should this surgery go well, and I can connect a Brain to it, it should become a real person...let’s begin.”
Hiru and Sumu sat in the room and watched him operate on the being that Sumu had created. The inside of the creature was interesting, especially since they never considered they wouldn’t look human on the inside. Instead of organs and veins, it’s insides instead looked like lime-green vines and veins, similar to pulp or the innards of a pickle. It’s blood was a dark-ish Green and smelled of Vinegar. But the interesting part was not the Patient, but The Doctor. Every movement he made during the operation looked as if it had true purpose, like every single movement was crucial to completing the operation, and that it would fail without them. The way he waved with his scalpel looked like an artist making a divine portrait, rather than a surgeon violently but carefully cutting open another living being. He was not only sophisticated, but he was gentle, and he was careful. As if he were performing a life-saving surgery. As he implanted a Human Brain inside the Body, lord knows where he got it, he stitched the wound shut, as well as the opening he had made in the torso. After cleaning the blood off of both his hands and the patient, he took out a syringe with a blue chemical inside and injected it into the patient’s body.
“This chemical is a creation of mine.” The Doctor explained. “It’s what allows for creatures to better absorb Aura.”
He then started to infuse the body with Aura, but then he did something strange. He made what appeared to be a glowing white orb in his hands, a task which seemed to physically strain him greatly. Hiru knew exactly what he had done. The madman had created a SOUL from his aura! The soul then rested inside of the patient, and it convulsed on the table for a little while, then stopped, as if it were dead. After a few minutes, the anesthesia wore off, and the patient opened his eyes. He sat up and looked around, seeming confused and scared. He looked like he had just been born and was terrified of his surroundings. Understandable. NOBODY would want to be born in that ‘Hospital’. When he saw The Doctor he immediately jumped off the table and hid behind a nearby chair. The Doctor then began to laugh to himself quietly.
“It worked...IT WORKED! The Child is...the Subject is truly...TRULY...my apologies I have to do this.” The Doctor said, before taking a deep breath. “IT’S ALIVE!!!”
“You’ve always wanted to do that haven’t you?” Sumu asked, smiling a bit.
“Absolutely. No matter what they try to tell you, every doctor dreams of the day where they have the opportunity to say that one line.” The Doctor said, fixing his coat. “Now that I know it works...I have no need for the Patient. I’d like for you to take him.”
“Take him? What use would we have for a BOY?” Hiru asked. “The whole point of our group is that we don’t allow any Guys.”
“Then dress him in Girl Clothes, I don’t care. If you don’t take him, I’ll send him to the Kage Atama family and let them do as they please with him!” The Doctor said.
“...Hm. Not a bad idea actually…” Hiru said, glancing at the boy.
“WAIT!” The Doctor said, scrambling to find a Birth Certificate and a Pen. “When a child is born, you name them! Let’s see...pickle? No, that’s too blunt and obvious...Vinegar? Cucumber? No, no, they’re too obvious!...hmm...Oh, I know!”
The Doctor then wrote the name he had thought of on the paper, then scribbled it out, and rewrote it. Repeat four times before he finally managed to write conclusively in cursive. The name he had written was Midori. The Japanese word for Green.
“So...you got like a dog crate or a box or something?” Sumu asked, holding Midori under his arms as he panicked.
“I’d...highly suggest you treat him with care, ladies. He is much like an impressionable Child, and whatever you do to him could shape his thoughts and his very mind.” The Doctor warned. “Of course it’s not my problem, just making sure you’d know.”
“I couldn’t care less. He’s going to be an...example.” Hiru said, glaring at Midori.
“Ah yes...how could I forget…” The Doctor asked himself. “Your group is the true embodiment of Suffrage and Matriarchy. No Man can go unpunished! Well...aside from the ones you can’t touch that is. I suppose I should’ve seen it coming.”
Hiru scoffed a bit and walked out, gesturing for Sumu to follow her. They walked out, with Midori still panicking, but not struggling at least.
“So he’s kinda my son, then...I had a son with The Doctor!” Sumu said, cheerfully. “Eheheh!...So what’re we gonna do with him?”
“Whatever we want. Let’s stop by the clothing store.” Hiru said, as she got into the Car.
“Why?” Sumu asked. “You need a new bra or somethin’?” Sumu asked, giggling a bit.
“No.” Hiru replied. “I need to pick up a buruma.”
Midori could not yet speak, nor properly think, but he not only knew it wasn’t for Hiru, but he also knew he was not going to look good in a gym uniform...
