I walk beetween the books, and I settle my glasses.
Too big for my face.
Perfect to hide myself.
I hear voices of children. I like the afternoons with them in my library. I like to read them fairy tales.
I take a copy of Little Red ridinf home from a shelf.
The wolf watches me from the cover.
I shiver.
I change the book.
I leave my fears with it.
Under other books.
I turn and I smile.
My secret: I’ve been abused by my father. I ran away from home as soon as I could. I hide in the stacks of books. I hide in the pages of fairy tales.
