“Are you sure this is the right decision?” asked Kegan, voice unusually soft.
“I don’t think we have any other choice.” Uri responded with a head shake.
“There is no other way to remedy our problem.” Elan said in agreement.
“I don’t like it either.” Marinel sighed.
Aure said nothing, not even looking up from Uri’s notes. Aure reshuffled them, laying them out before them in a circle.
“Your work is sound. This will make Father’s matrix collapse without killing anyone. The only issue is the –”
“It’s already been covered.” Uri said, cutting Aure off while pointing to a piece the others couldn’t read. “I made sure there wouldn’t be any consequences.”

“I promise, none of us will die a painful death.” Uri said placatingly. “But if we’re doing this, it has to be now. My array will only still qualify for another day or so before the natural magicks change enough that I have to make new calculations.”
“Fine.” Kegan said.
“No time like the present.” Elan said, already moving to take position.
“Earth, Wind, Sea and Flame.
North, East, South and West.
Naught yet Everything.
Unbind, unravel, unmake!
Untangle, unchain and break!
Return as once you were!
Free the Cities of Dawn!”
