Having both stop, Clair and the white dragon, turn to face each other.
“Why such a thing?”
“I wouldn’t know but a majority of us daemon took part and went off to gather prayer.”
“And you didn’t…?”
“Yes, that’s right. I have no interest in such things.”
“Then why…?”
“To save your brilliant light and if it becomes too hard for you or if you desire it. I shall break you free from this burden I have given you.”
“Huh…? What are you saying…?”
“It takes a part of us daemon whenever a maiden is made and it an unparallel amount of it to undo…”
“No! You’re saying that you’ll become like Lies, right…? No, I don’t want that.” Clair shook her head.
“But that decision may very well be the thorniest path of them all and will you still…?”
“You said, you’ll always be stay with me. So, stay with me!”
The white dragon flies to her, “As long as you desire it, I shall always be with you…” And fades to her while a white aura from it flows back to her, placing her hand over her chest. Clair continues onward to the tower.
As she reaches it, a part of the tower crumbled and reveals a corridor. A shadow flickered pass and went further into in the tower.
“Ellie…?!”
Clair gave chase to the silhouette, “Wait, Ellie…!” While the entrance crumbled away, she ran deeper into the tower and soon reach an empty room, the path she took was swallowed by the corridor.
She turns and looks for the silhouette of her friend that flicked by, but the room was empty and there were no other corridors leading out or into this room.
She stumbles her way around and as she reaches the end of the room. The wall fell apart, the moment Clair laid her hands on it and behind it was her friend, who was dyed in black and white, not even her blues eyes were spared.
Slowly walking her way to her, “Ellie…” while she heard Nyxi voice in her head, ‘That’s just a shadow, it’s not your friend.’
“Are you not, Ellie…?”
As the ground around the silhouette shattered, Clair reached out her hand.
Blink!
She lands and pushes the silhouette to the far end corner of the room while the shattering of the ground stopped only sparing this corner where they stood.
“Ellie, are you okay…? Huh!?” A smile crept on the silhouette face, pushing Clair off down to a pit that was below the shattered ground. The pit was all too familiar to Clair, it was her first-year classroom. The tables and chair were arranged in same manner a café would, and she was reminded of the Maple Festa, of the time they spent together and the incident that happened that day.
Fire broke out and covered the edges of the pit while dozens of faceless silhouettes appeared in the burning pit and all of them turn to face Clair, raising their arm and points to her with a wide twisted smile. Her friend silhouette from above looks over with its smile and jumps off.
Blink!
Clair reached out, jumped to catch her friend but as she grabs hold of it, the silhouette melt and fades away. With nothing to hang out to, she falls back down and quickly got herself back up all while the other silhouettes burn and melt away.
Staring into the flames that encroaches her, the memories of that day and the days that followed, flooded through her. She was reminded that she took the blame for the incident while her friend stood and watch. After that day, Clair avoided her friend, wanting to keep the blame and the hate towards her but…
“I’m sorry… I want to be with you… to talk with you… I miss you…”
A blue light glowed as threads pour out from her and covers the entire room. The fire was put out and the room was tied in threads of blue and in the middle of it all was a curled up sleeping Clair.
‘Clair…’
The white dragon float in an empty white room with Clair floating in nothingness.
‘Did we go back already…?’ She opens her eyes ever so slightly.
‘No… You’re still in the domain.’
‘Is that so…’ Slowly closing her eyes, ‘But if you want to sleep–’
Fully opening both her eyes, ‘No…! I can’t, I must keep going...’ Clair awakens while hugging onto sword that is shaped like a needle, she stumbles her way up and with her blue threads that covered the room. She walks her back to the room before this.
And upon reaching the room, the threads behind her unravel and disappears while the room itself had gone through drastic change. It had a much taller ceiling with stairs leading to another room and large veins that passes through to the room ahead.
