Clair drops back in the girl’s restroom in the corner where she was and searches if that person was here but as she expected, “She’s not here….” Clair places her hand over her chest, unable to accept the reality of what had just happened to her.
She ran out of the restroom and through the corridor, and with no more classes ahead, she makes her way out of school but she ran into a teacher along the way.
Thud.
“Clair…? What’s wrong?”
“Sorry…” She darts off.
“Clair…!”
‘Was she bulled again…?’ Looking back at her.
Clair rushes back home and when straight to her room, plopping straight into bed. She curls up in bed and hopes that all that just happen was some strange nightmare.
“Did she really die…?” Hugging her pillow.
“She did… That was out of your hand, Clair…” A white dragon appears before her while she sits back up and hugged her pillow, “Nyxi… So, all that happen…?”
“Yes, it did and let me apologies.” The white dragon flies down and lower its head, “I have burden you with the twisted daemon world.”
“Why…? Why did you save me…?”
“I can’t have someone like you die.”
“Then, can you at least tell me…?”
“It’s better to not know.”
“But–”
“Rest, you’re already at your limit. So, rest for today.”
“Okay…”
Clair plops back down and curls up once more.
“Will they come here, those monsters…?” While hugging her pillow.
“Unlikely, since they are bound to the domains.”
“Must I fight again…?”
“I do not know but if you do have fight, then I shall always be by your side since I am your daemon and you are my maiden… Clair, have a pleasant sleep…”
The white dragon lies itself down and closers its eyes.
Walking down the school corridors, Clair looks out the window and admires the twilight sky.
“Hmm… Did I leave for school already?”
She continues her way through the corridor and eventually crosses path with a familiar silhouette.
“Ellie…!” She reaches out but the silhouette brushes her hand away and continue walking. Many other silhouettes with same proportion came by, each walking their separate ways.
“Ellie?” Clair tries again but the result didn’t change.
She continues to reach for the other silhouettes but not of them even cared to look her way.
“I’m sorry, Ellie… I’m sorry, please forgive me…”
She desperately clings onto the silhouette but they push her back and she falls to the ground.
“Ellie…!” She wakes from her dream, reaching out.
Clair looks around, then the white dragon appears floating before her.
“What’s wrong? Don’t worry, you’re at home and the monster aren’t here–” She grabs the floating white dragon and hugs it.
“Clair…?” Looking up to Clair’s face as a single tear fall on its dragon snout, it decides to not ask further questions but then, half an hour passed.
Worrying for its maiden, “Clair, are you not going to school today? It may best, you not.”
“Sorry…” She places down the white dragon and rushes to get herself ready while her daemon fades away.
Another half an hour passed and Clair who was going to be late. She dashes off to school and reaches her classroom just in the nick of time but upon arriving, she was reminded that the person from yesterday was her classmate.
A relieve teacher stood in the front of the class and began calling name for attendance. One by one, they were called and soon enough it was that person’s turn but a name was never called.
“Huh!?” Clair stood up from her seat as the name was simply skipped.
The relieve teacher questions her sudden outburst while her other classmate stares in disbelieve.
“Sorry, I have to go…” She sprints out of the class without even gaining permission from the teacher.
Running through the corridor while ignoring a voice that came from within her.
‘Stop! Clair you must stop!’ The white dragon remains hidden and repeats itself again but Clair won’t heed its words.
She then runs into the last person she wanted to see, Nina Hayes a friend of the person from yesterday. Hayes grabs hold of her and dragged her to a quiet corner of the school.
Thud!
Pinning her to the wall behind her.
“Yo, how have you been, little saint?”
“What do you want?” Clair looked straight at her.
“I like that but what happen little saint, I saw you running pass my classroom.”
“It has nothing to do with you, so let me go.” She tries to flee but Hayes pushes her again into the wall.
Thud!
“Never mind that, more importantly. What happen yesterday, I heard she was playing with you and now she’s gone.”
Slamming her fist into the wall behind Clair, “What happen?!” as the room began warped and transform into a domain while both Clair and Hayes change into their maiden dress.
“I knew it, you’re also a maiden.” She grabs onto Clair and tosses her to the other side.
“How did it feel to get your revenge on us?” Hayes expanded the claws on her gauntlet and covered them in orange aura.
