After they clean up the table and putting away the dishes from breakfast. They headed on over to the secretary to see if there were any jobs available for the day.
They got assigned a low-level fetch Quest in Sara's words. Go out into the woods and hunt down specific herbs that are used in healing potions.
The job pays enough to get started on weapons and possibly armor so they take it.
Walking out of the building Sara says "We should probably split is two teams. I have appraisal. I can find the plants really easily and we have some money we should probably get some necessities."
She points to her and Steven and says "we would probably be the best team to go to the woods. So you two should probably head off into the city to get supplies."
Percy pipes up and says "I actually agree with that and until I get some sort of abilities to fight I don't feel comfortable going out of town." There are nods as to accepting the sentiment and agree to go to town.
After Rose takes a quick mental list of things that she will be looking into buying. Rosa and Percy head off towards the local market waving goodbye.
Rosa shouts "See you both tonight! Don't stay out too late." and then turns around walking away.
Steven says "Well I guess we're heading out then." he then turns and starts walking off towards the City exit.
After a short walk, she and Stephen make it to the forest where she starts checking different plants. With the use of appraisal, she finds many plants that aren't requested but have interesting properties which she goes about harvesting them as well.
With most of the plants collected Stephen starts pacing around the area they are in. He's flicking through the spell list that he has actual access to out of boredom.
Stephan pipes up and says "Hey Sara, what is the most powerful magic in all of those games you used to play."
Sara continues mindlessly harvesting some of the herbs while she responds back "Destruction magic was always the most powerful but not the most useful. Most of the time it has fairly easy ways to counter it.
I would say poison was always good but I don't know if you have access to those types of spells".
Sara stops fiddling with the plants and kind of looks awful for a second "corrosion or poison always was the most annoying in those types of games but I don't know if it was the most powerful, sorry. I only ever was a support character so I only really know about utility." She sends Stephen an apologetic look and returns back to the plants
Steven looked like he was about to ask more questions until a rustle in the bushes heard. Getting into a fighting stance Steven prepares for the inevitability of battle.
He stands there tense until 3 slimes exit the bushes. Steven immediately relaxes and then goes to stab the signs with his stick when Sara stops.
Sara stands up and says "Wait I want to use appraisal on them I want to know if there's do anything I can do with them." Stevens Shrugs and backs off a little bit.
After using appraisal on the Slime she realizes that the Slime itself can be used in many different potions as a replacement for water that's more viscous. Figuring that she probably make the potions throwable she picks up the slimes.
She turns to Steven and says "I wanna breed the slimes!" she smiles wide and shifts from foot to foot in excitement.
Stephen blankly stares at her and asks "why would you do that?"
Sara explains her thought process, she goes "think about it you could probably just Chuck season that people. It would be a really good weapon. Maybe there's a potion that can turn things to Stone. Maybe just hurling a ball gelatinous Mass and it turns out enemy to Stone."
Setting the slimes down next to the plants that she's harvesting and goes "let's finish this and then I want to see about how to keep these Slimes. More slimes later that would be awesome."
She collects up the remaining plants that they requested and collects slimes into her arms and nods her head at Steven and asks "Can you grab the last two"
Stephan makes a disgusted face but still grabs the last two slimes and they both had back to town. People give them confused looks as they walk back to the inn. Sara just ignores the looks and keeps rambling away about possibilities of what she could do with a Throwable potion.
As they're passing a store Sara turns and looks inside. She sees a terrarium, rudimentary in make but would probably work for the slimes they have.
Shoving the slimes into Stevens's hands so he's now juggling for slimes. She says "wait here I just want to go check to see how much they cost."
Before even giving Steven a chance to reply she abandons him in the street and heads into the store with a small weight behind her.
She heads over to all terrarium about a 60-gallon looking tank. She asks "Hi, how much is this?" looking over in the direction of the front counter.
The storekeeper walks over and says "That'll be about 30 silver." Sara looks over the products and it's probably the best chance she'll get at finding housing for her slimes.
She looks at the shopkeep and says "Is there anything I can trade you for it."
The shopkeeper looks confused and "says why would you want to trade it's only Thirty silver?"
Sara embarrassed says "My party doesn't have that much money right now we just arrived in town and I was looking to get potions I need to house slimes."
Kind of gesticulate with her hands as she explains what she plans to do with the slimes to the shopkeeper.
The entire while the shopkeeper rubs his chin and then obviously coming to a decision nods and says "how about this I'll give you one of my more defective tanks for free if you give me first crack at any of those potions when you make."
He starts walking to the back of the shop as he continued the saying "Consider it an investment in probability."
She just stands there and waits for him to come back. She thinks over what possibly could be considered defective and wonders if she could use it if it's considered defective.
The shopkeeper walks back in holding a larger tank than the one she was looking at but The glass is barely translucent blue.
The shopkeeper says "How I make my terrariums are with earth magic, but I messed this one up. I was going for a bigger size but couldn't control the opacity in the glass and turned it blue. I don't really have a use for it since nobody wants to buy a blue tank but for your purposes, I don't know if it would matter."
Sara looking ecstatic says "This is perfect." She then pulls out her hand and says "My name is Sara and it's a pleasure doing business with you you'll be the first person to know if I can get these potions working."
He puts the terrarium down on the counter and shakes her hands saying "My name is Wash. Then good luck with your experiments."
After meeting Stephen outside and showing him the new tank. They pile the slimes into the tank and head off back to the inn.
