On that day, Wei Xiao mysteriously vanished into thin air. His disappearance caused a huge commotion at the venue. Subsequently, Wei Yue’s parents easily tossed her aside and relentlessly searched for Wei Xiao. It was like they had forgotten that they had a daughter too and ignored her safety and wellbeing.
Because of the initial shock after hearing the news about her younger brother, Wei Yue was easily knocked down by a passing guest, causing her to sprain her ankle and almost be stomped on. Many more walked on by as if blind. Left all alone by herself, it was as if no one even remembered that Wei Yue existed.
As a good and understanding daughter, she ruefully overlooked their actions with clemency. Wei Yue was well aware of just how much everyone cared for her beloved younger brother.
However, even when everything was turned over, Wei Xiao had yet to appear. Wei Yue saw her own parent’s despair and ignored her own pain as she tried to appeal to the public for help.
By contacting the news stations, she thought that if they had more coverage, they would help find her younger brother much more easily.
Naturally, Long Zixi, who had attended the event, would know of everything and saw how silly Wei Yue was. Her absolution of their negligence as well as the guests’ transgression, was as clear as day.
Using her own strength, Wei Yue sought a way to facilitate the intense situation. Long Zixi knew that she was not one who would want to abuse her connection with him or pressure him to help. She would rather carry the burden all alone.
Wei Yue courageously stood and consoled her parents. Her tiny and lonesome figure was even grander than Mount Tai⁸.
But how could he—someone who saw her as his little treasure—be a bystander to all of this? As if it was the most natural thing to do, Long Zixi stealthily succored.
With his aid, the police task force was able to locate the exact location where Wei Xiao was said to be. But it wasn’t as simple as Wei Xiao being lost or leaving the venue. Rather, he was kidnapped and was currently detained inside of a large abandoned building.
Unable to contact the other side, a hostage rescue operation was put into action. As soon as they entered the area, the awaiting force who had taken Wei Xiao ambushed them. Launching an attack with a large number, it was certain that they had been long prepared for the swat team and police force—they weren’t going to give in easily.
A massive gunfight ensued with the kidnappers taking the first shot, and the only way to get inside was through the maelstrom of bullets. However, the police forces weren’t superior beings, and there was a stalemate.
Incidentally, during the shootout, a stray bullet hurled towards Long Zixi, and Wei Yue blocked it for him. It was at this moment that their love fully strengthened, and he gave her his heart. Holding Wei Yue in his arms, Long Zixi managed to retreat and take her to the hospital on time.
Whilst their love was in full bloom and carried the scent of spring, inside of the warehouse, only the grave sight of the mutilated Wei Xiao awaited Wei Tian and Zhou Rongrong.
They had disobeyed the exhortations, despite being told not to come, following the police inside. When they came into the warehouse, the two couldn’t even ID if the body was their son as the condition of it was beyond recognition. It wasn’t until they had done some blood work and checked his teeth for dental records were they fully able to ascertain his identity.
The two resigned from their positions not long after, arranging their paperwork and securing their only remaining child, Wei Yue’s future.
The fatality of losing their beloved child proved to be too strong, and Zhou Rongrong passed away due to illness of the heart on the eve of her late son’s birthday. With the death of his sole companion for all those long years, Wei Tian overdosed on pills not long after.
This accursed tragedy nearly pushed Wei Yue over the edge. But thankfully, because she had Long Zixi by her side, she was able to make it out of the murky claws of the relentless death.
Long Zixi and his parents supported her throughout her entire journey, helping her settle her parents’ funeral arrangement and company until she was of age to take over. They helped her cope with the loss of her entire family, her studies, as well as where she would be residing until she was an adult.
At the age of twenty-four, Long Zixi proposed to Wei Yue, officially registering for the two red booklets as proof of their love to the world. They lived a long and healthy life until the age of seventy-eight, leaving behind three beautiful girls and two boys to carry on their legacy.

After glancing over the information, he began to search ‘his’ memories to see how far the plot had progressed.
Immediately, a slight crease in his brows was seen.
<The information given is accurate?>
Bao Bao puffed his body and beat his chest with confidence.
<100% sure!>
There was no doubt in Bao Bao’s mind. How could the Main System dare trick a beginner host? That would simply be beating a (noob) dog to bully its (useless) owner! There would also be no gains whatsoever by doing so as we’re all brothers in hardship!
Plus, he was told that the system was set up to be fair for all—no matter their ranking or backing. This was something instilled many millennia ago by the creator and could not be ignored so easily.
Not to mention that Bao Bao was a system that had yet to start his journey, so how could he have incited the wrath of the higher beings? This thought was simply too impossible to conceive.
Being the system of this partnership, Bao Bao could only access logs provided to him by the main system. Such things like memories were inaccessible as they belonged to the inhabitants of the world, and if Bao Bao wanted to be granted permission to view it, he would have to pay a fee. Seeing that he was also broke, there was no way for him to see them.
(Bao Bao: *gasp* There was such a function?
Beansprout: Did you not read—
Bao Bao: Oh… Haha… I did… *sweats*)
Subsequently, Bao Bao was unaware of what his host saw.
The young man closed his heavy lids. His facial expression was as tranquil as it could be as if he was just going to recline back and sleep.
However, things were much more different than they looked. To find out what was wrong, he had to scrutinize every single small detail he was provided. There were many things that did not match up with each other, and he needed to figure out why.
Going through all of the details once again, the young man contemplated. It seemed he could only wait for the next part of the play and see if it would shed any further light on the problem.
<What are the tasks?>
<Here are the tasks for this world.>
A familiar transparent screen pops up in front of the young man.
{Main Task: Achieve Wei Xiao's wishes.
1. Live life to the fullest. - 25 points
2. Expose the black-hearted lotus's true color. - 50 points
Total: 75 points
Side Missions:
1. Graduate college. - 100 points
2. Confess to someone. - 200 points
Total: 300 points}
Seeing that he wasn’t opening his eyes, Bao Bao was ‘biting’ his ‘nails’ fretfully. Why wasn’t his host looking over the data? Could it be that his host had peeked at it and he just didn’t notice it? The ball of fluff became engrossed in his thoughts.
It was only after a while did he come back to reality. Seeing that nothing happened, Bao Bao could ask his long-awaited question now… right?
The silly system was stressed to the point of pulling his soft and fluffy hair out. Well, that was if he could do it himself as he doesn’t have any limbs.
A moment later, Bao Bao toughened up and decided to bite the bullet. Mumbling in a voice just a decibel higher than a whisper, he inquired.
<Host… What’s your name?>
Cold sweat covered his body. At this point, it was as if Bao Bao felt like he was a commoner waiting to receive the verdict by the Emperor. What if Host is upset at Bao Bao and doesn’t want to answer! What could Bao Bao do then? Call Host, ‘Host’ for the rest of his life? Ahhh. Bao Bao doesn’t want to be known as the first system to fail the simplest step! 995¹⁰!
As Bao Bao was having his episodic mental breakdown monologue on his own, the young boy’s eyes finally opened. The unique colour of those eyes glimmered like sharp icicles.
He unhurriedly replied.
<My name is… Ain.>
Unknown Diary Excerpt:
The first time I saw him, I was met with his enthusiasm. He was overly bright… and I felt irritated for some reason. I disdain his carefree and foolish attitude. I wonder how I ended up with him?
The author has something to say:
Initially, I didn’t have any meaning for the names, so as I was editing, I went back and added it in. haha… Hopefully, my edit is better than the original… Lol. It was so cringy when I reread what I wrote, and my face is like ಠ-ಠ. Like nani?! I really, really, really sucked…
Also, my word count has more than triple their initial number, and it will be constant throughout the story as I go back and edit each arc~! Hopefully, this is more of a plus than a minus… heheh
Thank you all for sticking with that horrible mess! 么么哒~
Most of you might have also noticed that I changed the main character’s name from ‘Ains’ to ‘Ain’, there’s a reason for that… ( ˘ ͜ʖ ˘)
Hehe… Ayin ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
