"It worked!" Lynstella gasped.
In front of them was an enormous wave of dancing fire that looked like a dragon's breath. Although dragons are only mythical, there was a part of Seth that hoped they existed. But actually, he was just being childish. Any stage-one fire mage could recreate this 'breath of fire'.
After a few seconds, a sudden realization fell upon Seth, widening his eyes in fright.
"L-Lyn! You'll burn the leaves!"
"Oh, my bad!" Lynstella immediately stopped casting the wind spell, her white-glowing rune dimmed as it turned back to its former black color.
Out of relief, a heavy sigh escaped from Seth's mouth as he turned to her.
"Don't get too carried away," he chided her.
Because of the heat that the 'breath of fire' had caused, Lynstella was sweating hard. Upon seeing this state of hers, Seth slightly smirked in satisfaction as he thought that being a fire mage was advantageous.
"S-Sorry." Lynstella finally let go of Seth's hand. "You already know that I always feel that way whenever I achieve something."
"Well, I understand." He touched his index finger. "How did you do that?"
"Simple! I fueled your fire with a lighter type of air!" she harrumphed, hints of triumph all over her sweaty face.
"But isn't all of air light?"
"I mean, yes. But there are also— Wait, you're not messing with me right?"
"Sorry. Please continue."
His question earlier was a joke of course. He was aware that there are lighter types of air compared to the other types, but he just never paid any attention to it.
"Hmm..." Lynstella pouted slightly.
Seth remained silent.
After clearing her throat, Lynstella continued.
"There are lighter types of air that can fuel a fire. I don't exactly know how and why, but at least it was useful."
Seth finally realized that maybe the air that comes out of their mouth wasn't the same lighter type of air that Lynstella was referring to. That would explain why blowing the candle only kills the fire. But just in case, he decided to ask her anyway.
"Is it different from the air that we blow?"
"Yup!"
"...Interesting."
"Right~? You should thank me for that."
"Yeah, yeah. Good work, genius." Seth patted her shoulder. "But I think you weren't the first one to discover that."
"That might be true, but learning something by myself is still satisfying." She stuck her tongue out at him.
"Er... You have a point." Staring forward, he removed his hand from Lynstella's shoulder and propped it to his right, bent knee.
Afterward, they remained silent.
A few more minutes had passed, but neither the two of them initiated a conversation. As Seth's curiosity began to rise, he turned to Lynstella to see what she was doing, causing him to raise a brow at what he had witnessed.
Beside him was a slumbering Lynstella.
She was exhausted after all.
Her head kept on bobbing up and down as she slowly tilts toward Seth. After a couple of seconds, her head had leaned against his shoulder. Without even noticing, Seth was already staring at her face. But instead of getting attracted by how cute it was, his whole attention was focused on her slightly opened mouth, staring intensely at the drool that was slowly falling down at the corner of her lips.
"Oi..."
With his available hand, Seth carefully closed Lynstella's mouth by pushing her chin. She made an "Mm..." sound afterward as her face slightly contorted, but she didn't wake up. It would have been bad if he disturbed her any further so he occupied his mind instead of the things that he had been studying.
