The young girl was standing in front if woman who lay barely breathing on the floor. Looking past the girl who was in shock they saw the woman had been stuck fatally. But the moment they stepped into the house they felt the weight doubled causing them to use more spiritual energy. Yue Long stood in front of her mother with no idea how to react. Her mind started to run wild trying to figure out something. Thus, her natural response was to freeze up as she never thought that she would see this sight. ‘I should have never left. This is my fault. I should have been here.’ Were the only thoughts going through Yue Long’s mind the fours presence had not even been noticed. Wisps of black and white spiritual energy were coming off of Yue long as she tried to make sense of this scene. Thunder crackled through out the air as lighting flashed through the window.
“Yue…. My darling girl…. Come here…” Mimi raised her hand up sightly to get Yue’s attention. It worked. Yue snapped out of her thoughts and was kneeling by her mother’s side holding that very hand. Tears streamed like a gentle stream down a hill, it was a steady stream that would not empty. “Mama Mimi I’m sorry I was not here to help you. Mimi, Mama, Mama, I you can’t leave me mama. Where is Papa? Mama?” Yue’s voice was very soft but loud enough for Madam Mimi to hear. The Masters could tell she was trying hard but failing horribly as it broke halfway through. Mimi smiled at her child and lifted her hand that held her wound. Blood covered it, but she wiped away one steady stream as best she could. “My dear… Don’t cry… I will Never leave you…But I cant stay like this… My dear moon…. There are people coming for you” Mimi took a glance around. Her eyes widen slightly and then a small chuckle came from her. “I see…. She will be the moon and he is the sky that’s behind her forever…. I am glad you are well protected my dear…. Mimi is sorry she cant help you anymore.” Yue placed her hand on Mimi’s hand that was caressing her face trying to stop the stream of tears.
“Please help her. One of you please help her. I beg you Please. SAVE MY MAMA!!” Yue had turned her head and looked at the four who were standing by the door. In front was Mu Jun with his tiger mask, right behind him was the small one of the group Kung Zhong. Then to the left of them was Xiu Feng and on the right was Xue Xing who face had darken tenfold. It’s not that they didn’t want to save her, but they could barely move and were hitting the max of what they could use in the mortal world. The spiritual energy was the heaviest inside as the cause of it was here as well. Xiu Feng used the rest of what he could and made it to the other side of Madam Mimi. Since both of Mimi’s hands were currently trying to comfort the crying child, he instead checked her pulse through her throat. It was fading quietly and quickly. But the Energy flowing through her was not that of normal means but that of soft, elegant light that lit up the night sky. With a soft shake of his head, he signaled to the others they couldn’t help even if they wanted to. Mimi was a servant or someone who worked under a god, but it was not under one of them thus they could not supply the energy she needed. Kung Zhong covered his mouth as he saw a familiar scene as Mu Jun clenched his fist. Xue Xing didn’t say a word just move his head to the side.
“My Dear Yue… you have to walk on you own this time…. Just know I will always think of you as my daughter…… I love you… My …. little … Moon…” Mimi’s had slipped from Yue’s face leaving a blood trail that dragged down her cheek. The hand that Yue was holding went limp and the warmth it held was starting to fade. Mimi’s eyes closed and a light smile rested upon her face as she was gone.
The air froze as Yue’s eyes widen. The world around her became slower as she felt the hand slip from her face, watched as her mother took her final breath, listened to her last words. She started shaking and was trying to figure out what to do. “Mimi Mimi Mama Mimi Please wake up…. Please don’t leave me please Mama wake up” Yue started to shake Mimi trying to wake her up, but deep-down Yue knew she wouldn’t wake. So, she shook harder and started crying harder begging louder. “No no please Mama No Where are you going? Please Wake up Mama please mama No No you can’t die you can’t!” Xiu Feng fell backwards watching this he couldn’t even come up with consoling words to help. Mu Jun watched from the door seen two different past and present.
One side he could see his sister firm a long time ago who was crying alone in a cave. He was just a young cub at the time, but his sister took care of him from time to time as he was sick. Tonight, he remembered something she said to him.
‘I have to go away. If you become a god one day Xiao Mu and you happen to smell someone like me. When you smell that lotus flower just know that person is me also. You will have to be their Gege okay. You can help them as well if they are struggling emotionally. Because you know me the best.’
The over lapping of the black and white spiritual energy starting to swirl around Yue and his sister from long ago was troubling. The memory of Mu Jun’s sister walking deeper into that cave and never coming back out started gave him the real feeling that if someone did not stop Yue. Something similar would happen in front of them. It was quick but Xiu Feng was thrown back by Mu Jun before a burst of Uncontrolled power released from Yue. Yue had looked back at the door and Kung Zhong stiffened as he was pushed down by the intense pressure.
“H-her eyes…. Th-th-they are...”
Was all he could studder out as he never saw such a thing. Kung Zhong started going pulling scrolls from his sleeves trying to find the answer. Each one was being tossed away as they didn’t have what he was looking for. Kung Zhong was frightened by Yue and wanted to move away further but could not because the spiritual pressure.
“Mama, Please Mimi, Mama wake up” The words continued as Yue looked back to her mother who lay lifeless. She was in shock the explosion hit Mu Jun, but it did not push away. Getting down on to his knees Mu Jun got Yue to look at him. But was taken aback by her eyes, black and white heterochrome snake eyes, shaking off the uneasiness he places his hands on Yue’s. The word still repeating constantly “Mimi, please, you can’t. Mama don’t go. Mama please”
Mu Jun needed to think of a way to get Yue to snap out of her trance. He looked back to Kung Zhong who was looking for answers, as a small idea came to his mind. Lifting one hand he untied his mask and let it slide off his face. Three marks crossed his eyes they were marks to remember his time as a child a time when he had lost his family but found another. The words became small mutterings now as Yue quieted down still in shock but now her focus was drawn to the scars. Kung Zhong looked up to see that Mu Jun had taken off his mask it. ‘Do you mean to trust her or to kill her?’ Was the thought that ran through Kung Zhong’s head. Only those who Mu Jun trust and those he has truly believed needed his full strength have seen his scars. But most who fought with full strength never lived afterwards. “DO NOT KILL HER MU JUN!” The words just came out of Kung Zhong’s mouth without thought.
A slight wave from Mu Jun gave him no reason to worry. Mu Jun had Yue’s attention and needed to use it before it was gone. “Yue, I know it hurts right now. But Mimi is now in here.” Mu Jun patted his chest right about his heart. He spoke with a soft voice allowing Yue to listen and comprehend better. Yue Long had mimicked the movement with one hand. “Mimi i-s He-re?” She asked brokenly. Nodding ‘good im getting though’ Mu Jun thought to himself. “You mother is still alive through you. Don’t destroy everything here that’s precious to you because she is gone now. Breath now we still need find your father. Breath Yue. We are here to help you. We are on your side.” Kung Zhong noticed that Yue had not blinked the entire time the spiritual power had been active. Pulling out the scroll that they discovered from the prayer fields he opened it and read though it again. The answer was here. He found it, but he figured something else out about it.
“Gege her eyes close them” Kung Zhong instructed Mu Jun. With a nod Mu Jun told the other that he understood. Slowly Mu Jun raised his hand up and then slowly closed Yue Long’s eyes gently. It took a moment, but the presser started to ease up as a deep breath could be heard from Yue. Mu Jun had put his mask back on by this time as something wrapped around him. Yue had hugged Mu Jun and buried her face in his chest. Soon the room was filled with cries of girl who lost her mother.
“Mimi did nothing to deserve this. She has been good to me since I came from the lotus. All I wanted to do was give them a better life. That is all I prayed for.” Yue was accustomed to keeping her emotions in as a member of the Long family she had to be strong. She needed to be stronger and shouldn’t have very many emotional weaknesses that could be taken advantaged of. Yet this was too much to hold in at such a young age. Mu Jun had a soft smile and patted Yue’s head. “Shhh, its going to be okay we will find who ever did this Yue.” He clenched his hand as he tried to calm the one holding on to him like it was the last resort to live.
“Mimi I am so sorry I shouldn’t have been so selfish thinking I could pray to the gods for such a life.” Yue cried into the green robes as Mu Jun continued to comfort the girl. Kung Zhong picked up the other scrolls he had thrown around. The three walked over to the two sitting on the floor. Mu Jun kept patting Yue Long’s back knowing this comfort won’t help her because you cant comfort someone who believes its their fault and will blame their action for it. Looking up Mu Jun’s eyes met with the others. The same thought had run through their head.
'Is Yue a God?'
