The time had finally come for one of the most interesting ceremonies of Brittania. King Arthur Pendragon was marrying Wesley of Liones, who had no noble standing nor royal background. Wedding bells sang, heralding the joining of lives and lovers. The aisles were filled with the most unlikely of people. The son of the demon king, the daughter of the supreme deity, a fairy king who was accused of betraying his kingdom, a giant who hated fighting. There was a doll who used to be part of the Ten Commandments, there was a man who used to be immortal, a saint from the fairy realm, and an assassin whom Wesley had allowed to attend the wedding despite him knowing that she meant to kill him. There were also some more normal guests. Veronica, Barta and Marget of the Royal Family of Liones. The many apprentices Wesley had trained since he first got the job of Court-Mage. There were knights and peasants alike. But for both Wesley and Arthur, the wedding felt a little less full than it was. For their dear mentor, Merlin, was dead. And her reserved seat remained empty throughout the entire ceremony. But still, this was the happiest day of both their lives.
In front of the aisle was a small platform on which the priest and Arthur stood. Over the platform, was a flower arch. Arthur was wearing his signature white and red robes. His golden crown rested on his head. In truth, he did not often wear the crown as he thought it made him seem better than his people. But Wesley had insisted he wore it.
The bard played her gentle lute as Wesley walked down the aisle towards his groom. Wesley was wearing the same robes as Arthur. The only difference was Wesley wore a red and white cloak over his. It was tradition in Camelot for the mages to wear cloaks.
Wesley and Arthur looked at each other. Nothing but love was in their eyes. When Wesley finally approached the altar, the music stopped.
"Dearly Beloved," The priest started. "We are gathered here this evening to celebrate the joining of Wesley of Liones and King Arthur Pendragon in holy matrimony." He paused. "The couple has written their own vows. Sir Wesley shall go first."
Wesley smiled. There was silence for a moment as he got his words together. "A while ago, I entered Camelot for the first time. Barely a minute in, I was knocked over into the snow by the most handsome man I'd ever seen. You can only imagine my surprise when I found out that man was you, the person I'd be working for. I didn't believe in Love at First Sight, and I still don't. I just fell in love with you very quickly after we first saw each other." Arthur giggles, and the guests followed suit. "Arthy, if I get to spend the rest of my life with you, I can't wait for every day of the rest of my life."
Diane started to cry.
"It's so sweet." She whispered to King.
"Hey! So was I."
It was now Arthur's turn for his vows.
"Wesley, I want to start off by saying that my pushing you into the snow was an accident. And a detail you forgot to mention." He smiled. Wesley laughed through his nose. "I've never been in another relationship. And I never want to. You're the most perfect person and I think of how lucky I am every day. It's funny you're a mage, because every moment I spend with you is magical."
"Mommy, I'm confused. They didn't vow to anything." Lancelot whispered to Elaine.
"You may place the rings on each other's fingers." The priest stated.
Wesley and Arthur exchanged their rings.
"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and husband until death do you part." He turned to Arthur. "You may kiss the groom."
Arthur grabbed Wesley by the hips and crashed his lips onto his husbands. The crowd cheered for their new king. And they would all wait in excitement for the coronation, which was to be held in two hours.
