Master Xue’s eyes opened slightly and stared at the two. The pale face in the dark he could recognize from anywhere. But something bothered him. The clothes that the women wore didn’t match. So they were not sisters but one seemed to be skilled in martial arts, the other skilled in making others angry. Taking moment Master Xue noticed the straight stick by Yue’s side and saw it was blade instead.
“It is a surprise that you are wearing the lost Long Sect robes. I thought the disciples from there died when they no longer had a Leader. Looks like I was wrong wouldn’t you say Xiu Feng. They are most skilled with a different type of spiritual sword as well are they not Master Zhong?” Master Xue flicked his fan closed and started walking to the girls that were circled out. Mu Jun had gotten up from the ground and placed his arm back around Kung Zhong. The Other three master’s looked at Xue Xing and followed behind. There was a gleam in Xue Xing’s eyes, one that they havent seen in a while.
“Well… I believe they use a thinner sword that is easy hidden away, but they are also straight sometimes mistaken as a stick. Last night we saw one. In fact, I believe the Red Daemon was holding it. I want to see it again because it was beautiful.” Master Zhong placed his scroll into his sleeve and then pulled another one out. Yue was very quiet. Covering her eyes was her long hair something was wrong, and no one noticed.
Yue could hear the screams from last night, but they were louder and begging for help, for mercy, no they wanted her dead. They blamed Yue for no reason. ‘Its your fault that he got hurt! Your fault you could not give birth! It is YOUR fault that the war started. IF you didn’t love a monster!’ Yue held her breath for the moment, then let go of Lin-Bao Ma. Yue helped herself to Min’s shoulder for a moment and let out the breath she was holding. The smile she put on usually had faded and Jingyi Min was a good cover for the moment. Her anger exceeded that of Yue’s as she was almost hit.
“You dirty mongrel! How dare you try to hit me! And to Think I was going to accept your proposal! Forget it You will never get a woman with that attitude. YOU asked for the truth! I gave you the truth! YOU did not kill ANYTHING last night! AT most you did was threaten the real person who protected me!” She took a small step forwards letting Yue follow slightly. Taken aback by Jingyi Min’s outburst Lin-Bao Ma was dumbfounded. Which allowed Min to land a hard slap on Lin-Bao Ma’s somewhat clean face.
“….. mr…. want……. see him….” Were words that were barely audible to the Mountain Masters. The voice was too light for them to figure out who said it. Min on the other hand heard the whole sentence that was spoken and immediately stepped back into Yue. Master Xue was now only a few feet from the girls when he realized that the girl wearing the Long sect clothes was not listening. Nor was she even paying attention to what was going on at hand. Min turned around to look at Yue only to see her eyes closed. Feeling Yue’s forehead, Min pulled back. It felt like Yue was set on fire or even been Boiled alive.
“Yue? Yue what’s the matter you have a fever. Yue can you hear me?” Min had pulled Yue’s face up to get Yue to open her eyes. The black ink like eyes stared at Min like she was not there but was looking at a different person.
“The poor little black dragon child…... I will take care of him… such an innocent child.” Yue raised her hands to Jingyi Min’s face and in her delirious state gently rubbed Min’s cheeks. Then a worrisome smile started to dance on Yue’s lips. “Min my back hurts a lot. I think It left something else” Min’s arms suddenly had to support more weight. Min was able to help Yue on to her knees. “Yue! Yue! Stay awake! What are you doing standing there!” Min Yelled at the others who were confused on what was going on. They were trying to figure out if this was an act or if it was real. Min’s eyes darted back and forth before landing on the orange robes of Master Feng. Her light-colored eyes told Xiu Feng everything that she wanted to convey.
“Please help her!” Xue Xing was already next to them.
He checked the spiritual flow in Yue and sensed that there was conflict of demonic energy trying to corrupt the pure flow. “Mu Jun you and your stomach is what we need at the moment.” The arm that was firmly over the shoulder of Kung Zhong was a bit reluctant to, but he walked over.
To Mu Jun the air was filled with different scents but also there was also the putrid odor of death. Walking closer to the kneeling girls he could smell death on one of them already, but it seemed to hide another. Mu Jun clapped his hands and started rubbing them together. Small sparks of spiritual power were coming from his hands.
“This will be a good meal!”
Mu Jun placed his hands right above Yue’s back. The gash on her back started releasing blood and demonic energy. The barely conscious Yue started gritting her teeth and grabbed onto Min tightly. She was trying to keep from hurting Min, but at the same time the pain was unbearable for Yue. The Jun Sects art of Devouring evil had started behind Yue, to gather all the demonic energy into a smoky ball. Blood seeped through white clothes on Yue’s back. The mark as clear as day.
“IT’S HER!! THE RED DAEMON IS HER!”
A Ma sect member from the night before had watched the blood seep through in the slash across Yue’s back. The other three master’s stood equally away from Mu Jun, Jingyi Min and Yue Long, to challenge those who dare interfere with what was going on. No one made a move instead they watched as demonic energy was pulled from this small girl who had single handly taken a hit from a Tunshi zhe.
It took some time but the result of the extracting the demonic energy was a ball the size of a boulder. Finally, Yue let out a long deep breath that she was holding on to. Opening her eyes Yue looked at Min who was crying out of relief. She went to stand but something in her body didn’t listen.
“Well, I can see the Red Daemon is awake now. That is, you right?” Yaohau Ma asked out loud in a very poisonous voice.
“Wait!!!!!” The yell came from Mu Jun who was salivating at the demonic energy in front of him. But He was eyeing part of it that was moving on its own. Sniffing the air Mu Jun could tell that the thing in the demonic energy was Yue’s original scent. Whatever was in Yue was giving off a scent of anger and death. Banging could be heard from the massive boulder of energy from above.
The air seemed to change. Min jumped back from Yue and scurried over to Xiu Feng. Yue did not move from her spot, not because she wanted to stay but she could not move. “Let her out.” It was a sharp simple command. It was clear as day Yue had said the words. Xiu Feng looked down at the maiden who was hiding behind him.
“Why are you hiding from her. Isn’t she your friend Miss?”
“Yue IS my friend…. But that person right now…. That is not my Yue.”
“How do you know that is not her.”
Min looked up into Xiu’s eyes and pointed to her smile.
“Every time I have ever seen Yue in town. She always has a smile. Even when she got hurt she was smiling a really pained smile. Yue smiles no matter what.” Min looked up to the demon orb energy. The banging had just gotten worse. “This Yue is frowning and….. Yue only has one eye color…. She has two right now.”
The banging in the orb seemed to get frantic like it was begging to be freed. “LET HER OUT ALREADY SHE WILL SUFFER ENOUGH ALREADY!!!” The yell boomed over all who were watching. “Keeping her stuck in a place with the dark feelings she already has will make it almost impossible for her to make the choice. You need to let her go!” Yue didn’t move she stayed in her kneeling position and never raised her head to look at anyone. All the girls who stared at her started to tremble and shake from the sight. They did not know what to do. From what they could tell it looked like they were helping Yue Long, but at the same time it looked like they were bullying her as well. Yet they were all holding hands together and wanted to step up but none of their bodies wanted to move. They were all scared to move.
The banging started becoming weaker and small whimpers could be heard from nowhere. The whimpers where those who innocents were still intact. Whose heart was still as pure as it was the day it was born. All who were looking up at the orb saw something completely unusual appear at the bottom. Like it had become a window into the orb. Long white hair covered most of the body and the pale face. The dark mark wrapped around the right arm was banging against the window trying to weakly break it. One hand laid on the window while the other continued to bang on the window to get out.
“THERE’S A WOMAN UP THERE!!”
“HOW CAN THERE BE?”
“IMPOSSIBLE”
“WHO IS THAT”
“WHAT TRICK IS THIS RED DAEMON!”
Yelling was hurled by the Ma Sect members who were both frightened and interested in this trick. The four masters stood there shocked for a moment looking trying to figure out if this was an illusion or something made by the orb demonic.
“Who are you?” the tone was very calm and collected. Said in a very gentle voice but the response it got was Yue collapsing to the ground. Whosever’s conscious was keeping Yue’s body up has gone back to sleep. Kung Zhong gone over to Yue and trying to sense if there was any spiritual energy. His eye widens in shock as he found nothing not even a soul only faint traces that were left an empty shell was left on the ground. “What the fuck?” The tiger mask snapped to the crouched downed by the girl. “She’s gone? Her soul it’s gone. How? Where? I mean our powers at max power can do it.” Master Zhong started mumbling to himself continuously trying to figure out what exactly was going on with this young woman.
Jingyi Min who had been quietly hiding behind Master Feng had suddenly screamed out “YUE!!” Master Feng stepped to the looked down at Min. Her light eyes were wide as they stared upwards. Following the gaze, he looked at the white-haired pale figure that was laying in the widow of the demonic orb. Placing his hand on Min’s shoulder he went to guild her away from the scene. “That is impossible that could just be an illusion made by the demonic energy there is no way that is your friend.” Min slapped Xiu Feng’s hand away and glared at him.
“Let go! I may have not been very close to her from the start, but I know Yue Long the girl who has single handily protected all of us from being abused by this very sect! You are a Master of the Feng sect You allow woman to be apart of the fight. You do not look down on us. YOU don’t see how some of the other sects run because you rarely come off of those mountains. Get me closer to that Yue up there and I can prove that the is YUE!” Min pointed up to the demonic mess in the sky. Underneath it was a dark cloud growing as there was a hungry tiger with a meal right in front of its face that it couldn’t eat. “Jingyi Min I cannot do that. You might absorb the demonic energy. If that happens we will have to-“
Min pulled Xiu Feng down close to her face. Her eyes pleading, begging, needing his help “Get me closer to Yue. I will become a demon if I must. One that won’t kill the innocent just help me save our savior.” Jingyi Min begged the man her voice breaking as tears started to flow from her eyes. Master Feng was shocked by the emotional voice that was begging. He could not believe that this girl was willing to brave becoming a demon to possibly save an illusion. There was something in Jingyi Min’s eyes that made him want to help her. With a nod Master Feng wrapped an arm around Jingyi Min’s waist. Tossing her up quickly before she was gently cradled in his arm. “Wrap your arms around my neck it will keep you from falling off.” Master Feng said this a bit flustered but kept a calm composer. Forming a hand seal Master Feng hopped onto his blade that had pulled itself from the sheath that it was resting in. A faint orange glow could be seen around the sword as it flew up to the orb.
“Xiu Feng! What are you doing?! Getting that girl to close do you know what could happen!” Xue Xing made the same hand seal to follow Xiu Feng on his own sword.
Jingyi Min and Master Feng reached the smoky aura that was surrounding the orb. It soaked into Min’s skin and it felt like it was burning her from the inside. No, it felt like needles were stabbed into her and being pulled downwards turning her into strips of human meat. Min tightened her grip around Master Feng’s neck. “Are you okay? Its only going to get worse.” Master Feng looked at the girl from the side who was now shaking from the light exposer from demonic energy. “I will be fine! Just get me to her I don’t care how much pain. Just go.” Min’s Eyes were full of determination and had been staring up at the person who was now barely pounding on the window. The further they went the more Jingyi Min nerves started to scream out begging to for release of this torture. The blood in her body felt cold, yet the parts of her body that were held by Master Feng felt warm like they were heated on a sunny day. Blood started dripping from Min’s nose as the smoky aura got denser and was set on absorbing itself into Jingyi Min’s skin. She was taking in more as they continued onwards.
“Xiu Feng If That girl survives this you will have to kill her! Are you really willing to do it again!” Xue Xing was trying to catch up to the two but they were already to far ahead. As Jingyi Min reached the window she smiled a bright warm smile it shined like the sun in the dark smoky aura around them. “Yue I am here” She called out sweetly. As if to wake someone from deep slumber or to sooth an unnerving nightmare. Gently the hair moved, and a hand pressed down as Yue’s pale face with the crescent beauty mark under the left eye could be seen now. Her eyes showed a bit how terrified she was but the same somber smile telling Min everything was going to be alright was still there. Jingyi Min reached out her hand to touch the window where Yue’s hand was. But was stopped by Master Feng. Min gave a redden glare towards Master Feng. “You cannot do that If you do the Demonic energy will absorb into you.” The master looked back to Yue as he talked only to be shocked. This Yue had weakly mouthed the words ‘Save her. Take her back.’ Those were things an illusion would do the exact opposite of when it came to lure others in.
This stunned action was too long, and Min was able to set herself free and with her all her might pushed through the window. The demonic energy orb burst into a cloud pushing back Xue Xing and Xiu Feng away leaving Jingyi Min and Yue Long in the middle. The girls smiled at each other before Yue gave Min one last hug leaving an invisible mark before disappearing into a white mist. The mist flowed out of the demonic energy and down to Yue Long’s body where she sat up gasping for breath.
