Mimi looked out the window to see that Yue was patiently waiting for Kuro. Fortunately, for the two Yue decided to meditate while she waited. As Yue solely would focus on the spiritual energy in her body, thus ignoring the rest of the world unless murderess intent had appeared. Mimi stared at her beautiful daughter as a gold shimmer had revealed a scroll on the table. It was tied with a gold string. Both Mimi and Kuro looked at it and frowned.
“Take her to the meeting they are coming. Ill stay and handle them. But come back soon my love.” Mimi quickly pushed her husband out of the house and down the stairs. Well, he fell down the stairs. He got up brushed himself off and nodded. He went out and hopped on the cart as well. The movement of the cart made Yue open her eyes and her soft smile had appeared again.
With a quick whip of the leads sent the cart into motion. The donkey pulled the cart at a nice and slow pace. Looking over to his child Yue who was fiddling and squirming in place.
“Are you nervous about going to this meeting?” Kuro asked gently. Yue froze as the question he asked hit the mark. “You are going to be fine. They will have lots of food as well. Nothing to worry about.” He said this with a small laugh as the snap of the leads made the donkey move faster.
“That is not the problem… I am not used to being around a lot of people. And the Ma Sect people are to high and mighty to be bothered with a country girl like me. I don’t understand why they asked for me and even sent me this. It is just too weird.” Yue crossed her leg and started leaning into her father’s arm. A silently Kuro’s lips curved up into a small smile. He moved his arm and gripped Yue’s shoulder to hold her in place. “You my child will be alright. You are Yue Long Daughter of Kuro Long and Mimi Long. We pride ourselves on being strong and protecting those who cannot protect themselves. You my dear need to be strong for this night and you have your sword with you anyways you will be fine.” Kuro gave a hardy laugh and rubbed Yue’s shoulder.
“We may be strong but even you need a break Kuro. We are all humans are we not?” A deep sigh came from Yue after she said this. Looking down at his daughter he noticed that she looked a bit more tired than usual. The moon can be seen just faintly behind that lavender color. It is a full moon tonight and Yue would get the worse of her nightmares.
“Are you still having them?’ The voice was somber as he looked up at the moon. He gripped Yue’s shoulder tightly and the lead. “they are the worst, tonight right? Is that why you have been so tired?” Kuro could feel Yue’s body tense up at the words he said. Giving an Exhausted sigh she sat back up and turned her head away from Kuro. A frown had found its way to her face. She didn’t want her father to see the frown. Yue did her best not to show what was going on in her mind or express what she was feeling on her face. The uneasiness in Yue had grown as they traveled. The silence became a little unbearable for both sides.
“Father. I often feel like something is missing from my side.” Yue broke the silence between them. Kuro twitched as Yue said something was missing. “I also feel like there are people waiting for me.” A small sigh was released from Kuro, but he could not be fully relived by this small statement.
“I don’t know what to say to you. A lot of things happen for a reason. But feeling something like that it can be from your past life possibly.” A large grin had made the appearance on Kuro’s lips. The cart finally rolled through town past the inn and up a small hill. On the top of this hill sat the Ma Sect home. Looking at the entrance there was an archway that curved inwards to meet in the middle. Protruding from the sides were wall’s that protected the inside. To Yue this place was very fancy, that the people here were wealthy. Clutching Bingyuan Yue tensed at the gates. She was panicking in her head. Kuro saw his child become even more tense than before. Knowing this was not fear of the unknown but was fear of the others. Yue grabbed Kuro’s sleeve. And her face had pinkened.
“Father… do I really have to do this?” Yue’s voice was small and seemed fragile. Even Kuro did not want her to do this but now there was no choice for them. As Those people were coming to see Mimi. Placing his hand on Yue’s head Kuro patted it for a moment. Then he pulled Yue into a hug.
“My dear everything will be alright. You are Yue Long you can fight daemon’s, ghosts, curses, and protect the innocent from harm. I think an evening among the Ma Sect might be good.” The hug had tighten as Kuro talked. “Yue you are the strongest one I know… but even I cannot fight your mother’s decision so go entertain it for a while and then come home.” Kuro looked around and could see different Sect robes. Lowering his voice, a bit more and spoke very quietly. “It looks as if the Ma sect will have to behave since others Sect have come too.” Yue looked from where she could see and there were indeed other members from different Sect’s. Yue was disappointed though because she really did not want to go. Nodding she got out of the bear hug that Kuro had placed her in. She jumped off the cart and gave that same somber smile.
“Yue!” a cheery yell came from behind Yue. “Yue Hey its me Min!” Yue turned to see Min dressed up. Min was in formal wear that was the color of fresh peaches. It matched her nicely. The smile didn’t falter to a new one but still the same. Placing her finger up to give her a second.
“It looks like I am being called on father. Ill see you at home. Be careful” With one last hug Yue ran off to Min who was jumping up and down seeing Yue in her clothes.
Still standing there Kuro watched Yue disappear into the gates that hopefully will hold her till the meeting was over. But a feeling of dread washed over him as he watched four well dressed men walk in the same gates. He saw the Aura of the gods around them; he hoped his little girl would be alright. Shaking his head ‘The gods would never come personally to get her. Nor would they make a scene.’ His thinking was not flawed. Kuro knew the ins and outs of the gods as he used to serve under them as a Heavenly Officer a high ranking on at that. But the god he served under disappeared years ago. Slowly getting on to the cart Kuro looked back at the gates again. Sadness in his eyes this time. With the quick snap of the leads the cart moved again. Though it did not head home, but it instead headed out of town. With a broken voice Kuro quietly said…
“Take care of yourself my child.”
