“You are human? But… you don’t even leave a trace.” He said shocked and pointed at Yue.
“No one asked me and last time I checked not many men like being shown up by women.” Yue said this coldly and pulled out the blade from its sheath. The conversation was too long and the Tunshi Zhe got back up and was staring at Yue. But the angry it carried could be felt. It did not like to be hit, but there was no external damage that could be seen from the outside.
Seeing that there was no damage from the punch she threw made Yue nervous. ‘How many did this thing eat to get this strong. I cannot lose my focus on it.’ In Yue’s mind she trying to measure the Daemons strength and see if she could defeat it or not. Even if there was a stand still now, something just did not feel right to Yue who was waiting for it to move.
A figure ran in front of Yue and was reaching out to grab a hold of something. It was the woman before she was tricked by the Tunshi Zhe. The voices must have gotten to her or maybe even a more powerful illusion was being played through this young woman’s head. It was instinct for a woman to protect that of a child and it was Yue’s instinct for her to protect the weak. When the woman ran out Yue Rushed forwards and pulled her arm. They spun around before the girl could be hurt, but Yue was not so lucky and was slashed across the back. They rolled on to the ground as a giant white tiger had hoped over them and pinned the Daemon down. Before dragging it away into the woods.
Yue got up and made sure the girl was alright before she realized her mask had fallen off. It had not fallen to far, but Lin-Bao Ma had already gotten to it before Yue could. Yue’s black hair obscured her face, but her mask was one give to her.
“give it back now!” Yue’s voice was sharp and even a bit panicked. She raised her hand out for the mask, but Lin-Bao Ma was looking at the mask. It was made of a material he didn’t know, not even Yue knew what it was. It was smooth like stone but looked like it would shine like a star in the night.
“Where did you get this? Maybe it could be sold for a high price somewhere.” Lin-Bao Ma grinned as he started walking back wards towards his group of scared minions. Yue saw him receding and clenched her fist tightly. A small whisper came from the girl who was getting up staring at her. Yue heard it and covered her face with her hand as she was turning red with embarrassment.
“You are so beautiful even gods would bow to you.” The girl said this with great awe in her eyes. Yue waved her hand to stop the girl from talking anymore.
“No more please I don’t want other sects to come for me. I don’t even like the Ma sect I just don’t want to be seen please keep it secret my face.” Yue said this softly and the girl ran to Lin-Bao Ma and took the mask back while he was tossing it in the air. To quickly run over to the one who just saved her.
“You stupid bitch. Why did you take the mask back? We can’t see what a real monster she is.” Lin-Bao Ma grinned as he got closer to the girl who was almost to Yue. Reaching out he went to grab for the mask, but the girl was quicker and tossed it the rest of the way to Yue.
“No way she could be ugly. Never in your lifetime or the next she is the most beautiful in the village not even your sect has any more beautiful.” She stopped in front of Lin-Bao Ma and was prepared to be ran over when She was slapped instead. It was hard enough to knock her down to the ground.
Catching the mask Yue put it on and went t o help the girl up from the ground. Picking her up Yue bowed to Lin-Bao Ma and promptly left with her through the trees. Blood was on the ground where Yue had stood.
The four guys who had disappeared were back and all were glaring at the Ma sect members. The man with a white tiger mask was wiping his mouth of black substance. They looked like they were going to kill the members right then and there.
“Can you show us where the Inn is cowards.” A angry voice that had a very demanding tone The Ma members including Lin-Bao Ma had got nervous at the sudden turn of hostility from people they have never met before. But they all felt as if they made the wrong move they would be killed on the spot. Yet the four had pleasant smiles on and eyes of a killer. So, they made sure they got the full escort to the Inn and their rooms were even paid for by Lin-Bao Ma himself.
They sat comfortably in the hotel while Yue and the girl were in the woods. Yue was quickly moving along when she faltered and hit a tree. Yue had protected the girl from any injury to her.
“Miss, Miss! Are you okay?” The girl asked Yue who was getting back up using another tree as a crutch.
“I’m fine I just need to bandage myself up. That is why I brought you with me. Come on we just a bit further and you can help me out.” Yue picked up the girl again and started running again to her training tree. “What is your name?” Yue asked gently as she ran though the woods.
“Oh, right I couldn’t tell you before. My name is Jingyi Min. Just call me Min.” Min got quiet for a second and then looked at the black mask. “Can I know your name Miss?” She asked sheepishly.
“As long as you keep the Red Demon’s face and name a secret alright.” Yue looked down at Min who was nodding furiously in agreement.
“You have no worries Miss I can keep it a secret ill never tell a soul!” She was very excited.
“Its Yue Long. Don’t go spreading rumors about me okay” Yue stopped at the slashed tree and put Min down at the base. Yue hopped up to the branch before landing with a hard thud on the ground. “Next time if you see a Daemon like that again don’t stand there run the other way please. Hehe” Yue had taken her mask off and smiled. Her head was dripping with sweat as she pulled off her top clothes. Handing the bag to Min, Yue had started to grip her pants.
“The bandages and medicine are all in the bag please help me out Min.” Min looked in the bag and indeed there was all the necessary things for bandaging someone up. Nodding Min got to work by cleaning yup the blood around the wound, making sure to tap gently so it would not hurt. Then she would apply the medicine only for her reflex to stop when Yue would flinch. Min continued putting the medicine on Yue, only to realize that the reason she had to do this. The pats of medicine only got lighter and even softer to make sure there was no pain.
“I’m sorry.” Min said quietly.
“You are not at fault Min. Its okay. You and the village are why I go out and fight at night. I am not a coward.” Yue said gently and patted Min’s leg to feel it was wet. A smile grew on Yue. It was the first time someone cried over her getting hurt. “It is inevitable that I get hurt. I choose to protect the weak. If I had to redo that whole thing over Min. I would do the same thing.” Yue turned slightly to wipe away Jingyi Min’s tears.
“But still if I had just run away you wouldn’t have gotten hurt Yue. And your mask wouldn’t have fallen off too.” Min’s tears continued to fall. This made Yue a little uneasy, as she does not know how to deal with people a lot. They sat in silence for a moment as Min wrapped the clean bandages around Yue’s waist and back.
Putting her normal gray clothes on Yue turned to Min who was still crying. She had not stopped and show no sign that she was going to stop. Taking a moment and a deep breath Yue wrapped her arms around Min. Only for Min to cry harder, thus making it harder for Yue to comfort the girl.
