A few days passed as the news spread like wildfire across the heavens of a new flower and perhaps a new god joining the heavens soon. This only caused the empress to become angrier and frustrated by the news.
“THAT B*TCH CAN’T COME BACK!!” Screamed the Empress to her husband who was staring at a painting hidden from his beloved wife.
“My love its alright we just need to find the person who created the prayer. And then determine if they will be a threat. That women will not come back. She died years ago anyways.” The Emperor told his angered wife. Though his voice was not being heard as it was cold sounding. He looked at the empress and turned to leave. The look he gave was one that gave up appeasing the raging beast from destroying the place. “Be careful because if it’s still alive it will come for both of us and I would rather not face him again. He stronger than me and that fight left scars on both of us. Im leaving continue your meaningless rant somewhere else my dear” The emperor left the room leaving the raging fire devore the room that it was in. The Empress sat down and started brewing a plan. It was a plan to destroy an innocent soul before it could reach maturity.
Quietly Yue Long sat on the porch drawing the beautiful scenery that was in her back yard. She listened to the birds sing and all the animals that were running among the trees.
“Mr. Dragon I wish you could see these pictures. I’ll keep them to show you.” Yue thought to herself as she painted her hand was elegant. the pen seemed to dance on the paper along with flicks to move a thin red string tied to Yue’s pinky finger.
Knocking came from the front door. Yue long got up from her seat and set her brush down. The knock came again as she pulled her outer layer back on. “I’m on the way.” She called out. The home was empty which allowed Yue long to hear the knocking in the first place. There was no need as it was small house with three rooms and a porch that led out to a lake.
Pulling the door open you was met with a man who was holding a wooden box. The man’s face was covered but his eyes pierced through the two dark holes. To Yue they looked like two bright
moons staring into soul. But there was something familiar about them. Yue shook the thoughts away and looked at the man. “Hello what can I do for you sir” Yue gently asked with a light smile. Her eyes glistened with kindness and gave a sense of safety. This left the man stunned a bit by the site only to bow to her lightly.
“Madam you and every available maiden have summoned to the Ma sect for a gathering. You are required to go. This is what was picked out for you please wear it to tomorrow evening.” The man hand her the box and promptly left. Yue stood there with the box and looked at the man’s back as he had disappeared down the street. She did not move for a good half an hour. Being told she had to attend a formal wear gathering made Yue’s mind go blank. Even if she was given a proper attire she did not want to go. Yue Long was just a simple country girl who did not like to go into towns. Usually, her mother or father did that, although every so often she would bite her tongue and travel with her parents to help with food. Many times, Yue was teased for being a stronger woman and that she was not ever going to get married to any man.
Time seemed to freeze around the girl as she had not move. Only when her mother came and pushed her into the house.
“What in Heavens has gotten into you. Get inside if you get a fever again it will be the end of our blood line.”
Yue was scolded by her mother who was carrying some fabric. Yue set the box down on the table. Then she sat down next to the table and stared at it.
“Mama Mimi I was summoned to go to the Ma Sect’s place for an evening thing tomorrow” Yue said this very calmly as confusion was in her voice.
“Ehhh? You of all people were summoned by the Ma Sect. You lack so many things as a girl. You take more after your father who was a cultivator. You even train with him.”
“I know, yet they even brought me something to wear. And ive grown with my spiritual power I will be the best cultivator like him too. And fighting others is way better than putting on stupid powder on my face.” Yue had glared at Mimi who slapped the back of her head.
“You already train every day and even when and fought many ghost and ghouls you already are the best cultivator in this area. You are a young woman now think about marriage or else you will be alone forever. Young lady you are going to that party weather you like it or not and your father will send you off.” Mimi stared down at her daughter who was rubbing the back of her head. Yue grumbled to herself as she turned away from the box crawling back to her spot on the porch.
“I am going to marry. He has not come to meet me. I promised him we would be together again. Mama Mimi. He just needs to stop fearing what is going to happen.” Yue’s voice became somber as she spoke remembering the long silky black hair and those dark gray-black horns. The black hooded cloak coving his face only showing two shining white eyes. “Mr. Dragon will come back we promised.” Yue stared at the lake as she picked up the brush. Then the brush started dancing once more moving with ease and elegance as the picture slowly came to be. Yue would finish this painting within the hour. Letting it dry she take the picture and place it into two hard wood panels to keep them safe.
“I still don’t understand why you paint those things.” Mimi had opened the wooden box to pull out the cloths that her child will wear out.
“It’s great for my temperament and helps me focus on the little details as well. There is a robin’s nest in the tree over there. Oh, it’s going to rain tonight did papa take a umbrella when he went to work?” Yue looked up at the sky. it was becoming twilight a time Yue loved as there were ghost and creatures of horror were starting to wake.
“Yes, your father did take an umbrella. Don’t think I will let you out to fight demons and ghosts.” Mimi had turned to see Yue already walking towards the lake and forest. She had what looked like a straight stick in her hands already. The air around Yue looked as if it thickened with a type of blood lust. But not one against humans it was ones against the undead who would kill the innocent. Mimi knew it was her daughter, but it always made her uneasy on how Yue could quickly become so serious. A smile rose on Mimi’s lips. “Be back before the moon reaches its peak. You will need to sleep at some point.” She yelled at her daughter who was walking away from the house. Yue reached the tree line and smiled her normal sad smile.
“I’ll be sleeping outside like usual and that’s when stronger ghosts come out Mama. I need to keep up my strength. I do not want to be a wife with no use.” Yue disappeared into the woods to let out all her stresses.
