The young miss Yue Long went to hopefully get some sleep, but that was wishful thinking on her part. Yue Long had slept peaceful for a while before the nightmares started.
“My Love you are so beautiful at night as always.” A rough and deep voice said.
Looking up Yue could only to see a soft smile. She could not see any more of this man’s face, but this man gave Yue Long the feelings she hasn’t felt in a long time. His long black hair is something Yue will always remember as she would touch it and it felt silky. The night sky was lit up with the stars placed by the two. But soon the sky turned the color of fire and the ground had became a sea of blood between gods. Yue couldn’t control her movements while watching this. Her hand was placed on her belly looking down she had tears on her face. Then a roar of had been bellowed from behind her, thus causing her to scream out.
“No….” the name was lost in the dream.
A black dragon flew quickly across the sky to split the fight only for the dragon to be injured. Her tears did not stop as blood of everyone she cared for was spilled. Quickly she ran out into the middle of the battle area. Where the head of the dragon had rested. She placed her hand on its nose only to use her power and sent it away from the battle field. “I’m so sorry. I__________ caused this war and now I will end it with my life. Please don’t hurt them for this my love.” With a black blade Yue stabbed herself in the stomach. Falling over Yue was able to stare at the moon. It turned blood red and then it was gone. One last tear and the blurry vision of someone running to her was the last images before Yue woke up.
In the great heavens the four were all on the floor panting and gasping as they were all in pain. They all held their arms as the petals had marked them all. A sudden power burst from the black petals causing them to fuse with the god holding the petals. They all struggled with the pain as it was something they had not felt in a long time. Luckily the transition to morning didn’t need to happened quiet yet thus they had time to get the pain under control.
“What the hell is this Kung Zhong.” Yelled Xiu Feng who was leaning against a desk. Kung Zhong who was laying flat on his back panting as the pain subsided.
“The Lotus flower marked us. Because of a power surge from the person that created it. It means we will be their most trusted people. But the person who made the prayer might be in trouble.” Kung Zhong got up and relaxed a little.
“Wow! That was almost as painful as Jiejie's punch. Her punch was still more painful though.” Mu Jun had laughed a bit and scratched his arm that now has a black lotus flower now on his wrist. “Hey, my petal turned into a flower. Did yours turn into one too?” the two who were talking before had looked at the petal and indeed their petal marks are now full flowers. They nodded to Mu Jun who stared at the flower.
“Who is the god that listens to the prayers through the lotus flower Kung Zhong?” Xue Xing was cold and stern. There was no sign of him ever in pain, as he was calm and collected as he sat. But the voice held curiosity that was not like Xue Xing. Kung Zhong quickly understood that he should get on with it as the time drew closer for the transition of the day. Taking the scroll he placed it on the floor before he opened it.
“This scroll is not mine.” They were simple words but the three looked at Kung Zhong a bit worried.
“Then how did you get it?” Mu Jun asked. Simply Kung Zhong shrugged, this worried the others because Kung Zhong always had an answer for something and now he has none for a simple scroll that was not his.
“I don’t know. But this paper is made from a while ago. And the writing is from a man’s hand. But….” There was a slight pause from Kung Zhong who looked down at the scroll. In a quick motion it had ben rolled out. The Moon Goddess who was Loved was written at the top of the scroll. Pictures of lotus flowers and small drawings of a couple with their backs turned were littered all around the paper. “This scroll talks about a goddess from a long time ago. She was the moon. It never says her name, but it always says her title. Xiu Feng you control the sun, and she controlled the moon. It tells us that she was going to be the new Empress but refused the offer because she loved another. All the gods at that time cared for the Moon goddess as if she were their mother or even their own family. She took in the flowers that the other deemed to hard to handle. Those were the lotus and water lilies.” Kung Zhong had gone silent and looked at the scroll reading it over and over it again.
They all were silent. Mu Jun broke the silence.
“where did she go?”
“It says The Moon goddess disappeared thousands of years ago. No one knows where she went.” Xue Xing looked at the bottom of the paper as his face darkened a bit.
“That is where it ends as well. At the bottom of it has a partial drawing of something. I think there is more scrolls like this. We need to find them. And it's possible that Yue Long girl might be in danger.” Kung Zhong was sitting closer to the window when there was the sound of running coming from the main walkway. Heavenly Guards were running like chickens with their heads cut off. The only time they did this kind of running was when the Emperor and Empress was rushing to another place. But even that was rare.
Yet the four did not care as they were tired and two had to leave anyways. The transition to the day had started after another hour. Xiu Feng and Xue Xing worked together for thousands of years thus they had grown close as brothers.
“Do you think that girl is a goddess Xue Xing?” Xiu Feng asked as he moved a few things around. Xue Xing was quite for a moment before he looked at his friend.
“Xiu Feng anything is possible. She has the beauty of a goddess. I do not know but something is going on and this may be the time of Emperor and the Empresses downfall. Most of us know something went wrong, years ago but no one speaks up about it. That girl may be the key to it all.” Xiu Feng was a bit stunned to hear Xue Xing talk about the Emperor and Empress so bluntly. Though he had not objections to any of Xue Xing’s words.
“Be careful brother of saying words like this to anyone else they might banish you for plotting against the Emperor.” Xiu Feng was still moving papers when Xue Xing turned him around And leaned close to his ear.
“Xie Feng I have been the night god for an awfully long time and only I know their darkest secret those fools on that throne were never supposed to be there someone else was. And they will kill her to keep their position.” Quietly in a whisper Xue Xing gave an eerie feeling to Xiu Feng. Then Xue Xing left leaving the rest of the prepping to Xiu Feng.
Even if he had giving him such an eerie feeling, he knew his friend was angry and left it be. There was no reason to be caught in Xue Xing’s line of fire when he was angry. Anyone that did wished they walked the other way.
