Dante clears his throat and tries to speak, but he made no sound, just
continued with a shocked expression on his face.
“At least not here, not in this place, and not at this moment.” Ana
continued.
“What happened is that, as far as the letters told me, your destiny, Dante,
seems to have changed completely!”
“What is strange is that I played cards for you a few years ago, but at that
time, the results were somewhat foggy. Now, on the other hand, the
results have never been so clear!” said Ana with some confidence.
“Okay, but ... What does this have to do with this girl that I see?” Argued
Dante.
“She can be your soul mate, or rather, the two of you, in some way, can be
connected by fate.”
“I believe that your resentful soul is not accepting very well to get
separated from her. And perhaps, this soul of yours is giving you access to
memories of the past. So that way, you will be able to remember this
woman.” Said Ana.
Dante was incredulous; he did not see his mother’s explanation as a
solution.
“Seriously, Mom? Past lives? Destiny? The powerful “Mãe de Castro” can’t
come up with anything better?” said Dante with a cynical look on his face.
“And even, if that memory of the past was true... How do you think that I
would find this woman today? There are billions of people around the
world.”
“You know what? I think Chris is right! It must be a desire to go out with
someone. I think I’m going to go into one of those dating apps and forget
about this crazy conversation.” Shouted Dante.
Dante then gets up from his chair, right before his mother. The two then
proceed to the store entrance. As Dante turned the glass door handle, he
was interrupted.
“You started listening to her, didn’t you? When you can no longer ignore
it, come and look for “Mãe de Castro” again.” Ana said with a convincing
expression on her face.
“Uh-huh!” said Dante sarcastically.
“And son, on the way home, stop by the market. We have no bread.” Said
Ana, trying to provoke him a little more.
Dante then finds himself betting on dating apps like any other millennial.
He soon finds someone, Vanessa. After several exchanges of messages
between them, both agreed to meet at a local coffee shop.
Vanessa and Dante arrived at the cafeteria together as planned. People at
the establishment drank their expensive coffee while taking care of their
electronic screens. Dante soon asked Vanessa what coffee she would
prefer before they left for the cinema. Dante then waits in the line for his
request and Vanessa’s. Meanwhile, a teenager still dressed in clothes from
a local school was at a nearby table, watching something in her notebook.
Dante realizes that he could no longer kill time on the line with his already
discharged phone. Luckily, the teenager was also charging her cell phone.
Intending to ask for a cell phone charger, Dante goes to the teenager
unpretentiously. When he gets close to the girl, Dante is quickly intrigued
by the scenes he watched on her notebook screen.
“Look! this is interesting! Girl, what country is this program from?” said
the excited Dante.
“Hi? Oh, that? It’s a South Korean drama called “My Desperate Heart,”
and it’s enjoyable! “Said the teenager, a little embarrassed.
“Seriously? South Korean? Jeez! I thought it was hilarious how the two
women pulled each other’s hair out!” said the smiling Dante.
Dante was about to move away from that table and turn his attention
back to the coffee line. However, he was interrupted by the next scene in
the drama.
It was her. The woman who had haunted him so much in the last few days,
coming on the scene. She wore more everyday clothes, and her hair was
dyed blond. Dante did not believe what he saw, she was different, but she
was still the ghost of her dreams.
The scene in the drama continued until the woman smiled slightly. It was
that smile that Dante heard. Maybe it was a definite confirmation that he
might not be as crazy as he thought.
“Student ... do you see this woman too?” Asked the afflicted Dante.
“Huh? Yes! Sure!” said the troubled teenager, with Dante’s nervous
features.
“Seriously? Huh! I’m not crazy!”
“Hey. She’s there. Right?”
“Ergh, yes! she is one of the main character’s friends in the plot.” Said the
nervous teenager, with her trembling voice.
Dante, with a smile on his face and one of his arms leading to the
teenager’s shoulder, he asks. “And what’s the name? Who’s playing this
friend? I mean, the actress!”
“Ah! She’s a newbie, I think. She just joined the cast. If I’m not mistaken,
her name is Seoul-Bi, Seoul-Bi Lee.” The teenager replied a little more
calmly.
“Thanks,” Said Dante.
Dante was sure of what to do at that moment. However, he is interrupted
by Vanessa. She criticizes his lack of attention to her.
Dante was in a hurry. He needs to get answers.
Dante interrupts Vanessa. He didn’t want to hurt her, but he needed to
leave immediately. He regrets what happened and walks out the door of
the cafeteria.
Running through the “Liberdade” neighborhood streets, Dante finds
himself thinking more about her and how she looked at him. Until Dante
arrived at his mother’s store, The office hours were over, and his mother
was already closing the store door.
Dante then panting, approaches his mother, and says. “Look ... I’m not
saying that you’re right, but if I could stop seeing her, would I have to
make my destiny, somehow, fixed? But, how the hell would I do that?”
“Well... you will need to meet with her. Only in this way, your path can
finally begin to enter the “axes,” and your torment from the past may no
longer appear in your mind.
“At least that’s how the spirits told me it should be,” said Ana confidently.
Ana then sits on a chair and starts to fix her hair.
“And son ... I think if you are going to start this journey, you will need your
guardian angel more than ever!” said Anna, with a fixed look on her face.
Dante crosses his arms, leans against the wall, And with a sarcastic smile,
he says. “Mom ... come on, is there a guardian angel now?”
“Sure there’s! Frankly, it seems that I never taught you anything, “Filho.”
We all have one by our side, always guiding us on the right path.” Said the
upset Ana.
“So ... mine must be defective.”
“Anyway, I think you must be a little right. I found out who is the woman
is! I mean, who is she in these days!” said Dante nervously.
Dante then took a chair and sat across from his mother, continuing the
conversation.
“AND?” Ana asked in distress.
“Well, she’s an actress, from South Korea, called Seoul-bi lee or
something,” Dante replied.
“Wow, she’s cute.”
“How do you know that?”
“I just searched for your name on the internet!” Said the convinced Ana.
“Damm! I should have thought of that before. But, I didn’t know that she
was real after all. Dante said.
“Wow! “Filho,” Korea. You’re a long way from your destination, aren’t
you? But then, what are you waiting for? Go after her!” said Ana.
“Just like that? from nowhere? I can’t! You know we’re at the end of the
year, right?”
“Not to mention that after I got my architecture degree, I intended to stay
and get hired in my current job, you know...” said Dante, running a hand
through his long hair.
“These are just excuses! after all, aren’t there houses in Korea?”
“I’m sure your talents will get appreciated anywhere in the world. You are
my “Filho”, after all.” Said Ana, with some regret.
“go! Give yourself a chance to do something impulsive at least once in
your life!” shouted Ana.
Dante then thinks. Perhaps, your mother was right. Dante was not used to
doing anything impulsive. He always planned his future very carefully.
He already had a whole life organized in his head. And chasing the
unknown was not part of any of this.
Ana folds her arms and shakes her feet.
“Or... Just go crazy around here! There are great psychiatric clinics where I
can be putting you. It’s all up to you, sweetheart.” Said Ana, with a cynical
expression on her face.
...
Eventually, Dante swirled a glass of wine delicately. He was looking to the
side. The flight attendant handed him a bowl of peanuts. Dante was in an
airplane cabin, flying towards South Korea.
Dante turned his face towards the chair beside him. He then starts talking
to an unknown figure.
“You know, that’s it. Who knew that my mother’s speech would convince
me to go ahead of a stranger in a country where I don’t even speak the
language. Everything, in a complete and absolute dark of doubts.”
Muttered Dante, already drunk.
“All this, for when I finally find her, say to her, “I’m your destiny.” “I met
you in the past life.” Argh! In that way, I will end up going in jail, right? ”.
“But then... I’ve been talking here for hours, and you, just listening to me.
And look at my manners, I didn’t even ask your name.”
“What would be the name of the lady in front of me?”
The mysterious figure that Dante was interacting with has revealed. She
was wearing a black coat, black barefoot gloves, and elf ears.
The mysterious figure was the “agent of destiny” “KH,” which says.
“Wait ... are you seeing me?”
“But I thought you were talking to yourself...”
“Oh, Crap!”
