"Ren, I think there is something attached to the boat!" Anette told Ren as she held on tightly to the Captain's hand.
When the rocking started to slow, Ren took in her surroundings. She turned to the man attached to her waist, "uh Nico? Shouldn't you go see if the rest of the crew is alright? I - I'm fine now."
"Oh. . . sorry." Nico gently let go of Ren and rubbed the back of his neck. He walked to the other end of the ship to check on the rest of the men that were struggling to stand. One of the crew mates were hanging of the side of the look out, while Yellow Patch and Araja were hanging on by the ropes off the side of the ship.
Ren was about to go help them when Anette grabbed her arm, "Ren, something hit the boat." She spoke calmly, but the Captain could see the panic in her eyes.
"I felt it too, it must be -" before she finished speaking, a giant mass emerged from the fog beside the boat. The crew could barely make out what it was, then their commander yelled to them, "Men! Prepare to be boarded!" As Ren yelled this she immediately drew her sword.
"What is going on?" Anette exclaimed, tugging harder on Ren's arm.
"That's the black ship of John Broken, a violent sea Captain known for dominating other pirate ships and taking their gold, along with their lives. He must have harpooned the back of the ship. Since the waves were high and we were rocking so long, I hadn't even realized the ship stopped." Ren turned to Anette, "Go inside my office. Stay hidden 'till he leaves."
Anette did as was instructed, she ran into the Captain's office. However she couldn't bare to miss what Ren was going to do. She slightly left the door cracked about an eighth of an inch and listened.
"Captain? Do you want me to deal with him this time?" Nico asked.
"No." Ren gritted her teeth with anger. Her jaw locked in a frustrated expression. She then turned her stance, facing the ship. "I think I'll have a bit of fun with him." Her mouth lifted into a determined smile.
